For those of you who have taken delivery of a 4th gen, have you looked at the catalytic converter exposure to theft? (I haven't seen any online videos show them)

Does it look like the 4th gen will require aftermarket plates/covers or other gadgets to prevent cat theft, or is the factory location of the cat(s) blocked well enough that the 4th gen won't be an easy target?

How many cats on the 4th gen?

Is the cat exposure to theft the same on the 4th gen hybrid vs non-hybrid?

Looks like the Cat is mounted pretty high in this video.

Nobody is stealing cats out of the new taco. It’s basically in the engine bay.

Think it was mentioned that they were deliberately placed in a higher position to combat this issue from previous gen models

Over the years they started moving them closer and closer to the engine so they would warm up faster (and stay hot at idle). The sooner they get hot the sooner they can do their job

And yes being harder to steal is a side benefit

I wonder how many resonators will be stolen because meth. At least then it'll give us an excuse to buy the Trailhunter rear axle dump.

Stock wheels and suspension. Random "utilitarian" mods featured on this great forum.
Definitely sad times. They'll just move on to pawning wheels or even a transfer case or two on FB Marketplace I guess. Selling them "for a friend" of course

Miller CAT makes a Cat Cover for the 2.4L 4th gen……….obviously, they think they’re going to sell a lot of them, and listed by Toyota…….hmmmm

I am more interested in the patented security screws to use on my existing skid plates. Nothing on the website. Gotta call.
