Exactly . Adam @wi_taco is one of the OG's in here. He also makes damn good old fashioneds. And, that's not something I tend to admit lightly.

I knew the lead time when I ordered. F'n covid supply issues back then.

BTDT. I've been to 2/3's of the nat'l parks.

    F'kr. :p
Wife's RAV4 will be needing tires and I hinted at getting a more aggressive tire for it. She's not sure 'cause she doesn't know what it would look like. Could you post up a pic to show her?

Sounds like a mod day is needed.
We could all wear a Toyota Tech shirt with the name Scott on it.

    Just an idea.

That’s reassuring but also…is it wrong if I just say “Iowa”? :rofl:Just kidding lol I had to.

Thanks Rich, you’re pretty cool too, and I’m not at all saying that because we’re part of the silver truck gang (the clearly superior color).

Thanks bud! The secret trick is alcohol.

Good idea but not sure the world can handle that many Scott’s turning wrenches, it may bring us to the end times LOL! Crossing fingers I’ll get some work done this weekend.

Spot on. I don’t care what anyone else says…@wi_taco is good guy, a solid 6/10 in my book.
    ;)

Seriously though, not only are his his old fashions second to one (sorry, couldn’t help myself), he’s the go to guy if you need DC electrical/battery info.

edit: and and excellent wheeling buddy. For some reason we’ve been closers on at least a couple of trips after everyone has packed up to go home. We had to keep driving just a little while longer lol

Not that I'm looking to pile on the @wi_taco love but In addition to being a great guy to hang around in person he is a top notch photographer and has a reputation for seriously researching parts/mods.

    3" lift? A.R.E cap 285/70/17 moto metal 955 17x9

I bought the Gates kit off rockauto came with the tensioner, 3 idler pulleys, new belt.
There used to be a thread or post on here somewhere (don't remember which) on how to do it.

It's not hard my buddy did mine in about ah hour, theres one bracket holding an a/c line on the front crossmember in the middle under the motor to take off. Then remove or move the alt. out of the way.
Then IIRC theres four bolts holding the compresser then you can move it enough to unbolt the tensioner.

I used an angle grinder a combination of paint stripper wheels and coarse flap wheel. It’s very slow going. I spent about 7 hours solid yesterday to get this to this point. And that’s after the benefit of learning on the first slider (already painted). I called about sandblasting them but decided against it due to the price. Not sure it would have been enough to sand blast them, since I had fairly deep rust that needed grinding out.

What I do need is a die grinder to get at all the little corners. But, not in the budget, so that’s gonna be by hand lol.

Most of the day yesterday was me muttering what a stupid waste of time this is…. Seriously I think it would have been better to buy new.

I’m betting my issue is that they were poorly prepped when they were powdercoated. There were sections where it the rust went deep and the powdercoating would flake off, and other sections with perfect bonding.
