Any idea if you’ll have interest in tuning the 2.4L Turbo soon? @mZiggy

I have a four year old Kdmax tune in my 19' 3.5l AT 33" tires. My only two gripes with the truck are the slow shifting, it feels like clutch slippage when throttle is variable. (rev hang between shifts and a very soft engagement)(from my understanding this is shortening the clutch/transmission lifespan) and the unnecessary downshift and delayed upshift in cruise control made worse by 33" tires. Power delivery and throttle curve is pretty good though. Are these issues addressed in the newer tune?

I would say so. Something that always annoyed me with my last tune was the unnecessary gear hunting when the cruise was set (75ish mph) up and down constantly. Any slight hill, bump, or head wind would set it off... Now I'm very pleased with the way it drives. Low end torque, shift points and no gear hunting are pretty damn good.

I'm a big fan of manual transmissions (truck driver for 20 years). Unfortunately I couldnt find an MT when I got my new '23. The new tune is very close to the way I would drive the Tacoma if I was shifting it on my own.

As a fellow 19 3.5L A/T owner, and former KDMax tuner/user, I would describe the YW Blackhawk 2.1 offering as providing more low-end torque with a smoother acceleration curve. Shifting is also a bit firmer, although I was running a custom KDMax tune Kreg made for me that created a similar result, as I prefer a firmer shift personally. No harm in either approach. Just what I prefer.

I find the tune works pretty well in CC as well - better in the steady state CC than the adaptive of course. Just bear in mind that control is limited there, and some of the benefits of the tune are lost when using CC. The improved low-end torque definitely helps the truck hold gears better with the cruise on though, and I don't find it shifting in places I wouldn't expect it to, living in upstate NY, where flat roads are not often found.

That being said, if you are on a 4 year old version of ANY tune, you will find the current offerings very much improved over that. Quite a bit has changed since those early days!

What do you feel in adaptive cruise control? Mine has the YT Stryker tune and in adaptive cruise control it feels a bit surge-y, so much so that I was joking with my sister about how I don't name my vehicles while driving in ACC that I named it "Sergio" on the spot.

For me, it just shifts more frequently than I would expect. Don't get me wrong....it's perfectly usable. Just not as nice as the tune is without CC. This is true with all the tune offerings, as VF Tuner chose not pursue more control over the CC maps. Based on posts I've seen from Mat, this was for liability reasons. A mistake in those maps could be potentially dangerous. I don't think Mat wanted to take that risk, and I can't say I blame him. That's speculation on my part, so don't interrupt it as fact, but it makes sense.

I've got 2 or so weeks on 2.1 ww version 87 octane AT

    Dislikes.
Torque converter lockup solenoid management in 2nd and 3rd.
Native B04 calibration does not have it on in 2nd.
Not sure why it was implemented in old calibrations. It cause a hiccups during lower throttle accelerations.
3rd gear is the same. Kdmax has it off. BH has it on and the logic to turn it on/off is not matching. It would turned on at 17 -20 mph, then turn off at 25 and turn agai at a slightest touch on accelerator. Perhaps it is a no factor in flat lands, but it annoying af in a hilly area.
Another issue is minimum downshift and upshift speeds in 3rd and 4th, sometimes in 5th (speed dependant)
I would coast around 40 -45 off the accelerator and it would downshift to 3rd. As soon as you touch a pedal, it goes upshifting one up.
I had a situation where I was merging to a traffic doing under 60 and went from 4 to 3rd back to 4th in a sec and then to 6th, skipping 5th. Just like old B03 used to do.
Also the throttle limits between 3rd and 4th gear are not smooth (large gap).
    Likes.
ACIS tuning to turn on between 2400-2500 rpms.
    Doesn't ping in 6th compare to 2.0.

I currently have the self tune pack from KDMAX 10.0, how would I go about upgrading over to the new YW tune pack?

I got the yotawerx black halk 2.0 tune on my 2017 limited and it ROCKS! No gear hunting, noticeable improvement in horsepower, no peddle lag, and about 3 more mpg. Very satisfied and well worth the money!

805 Tacoma Tuning kicked off a beautiful Saturday morning by welcoming Paul and his super clean 2nd gen 2012 4.0L Tacoma into the Yotawerx family.

Looking at his truck it was evident that he was looking to optimize his vehicles potential.

With nearly 200k miles on it, improving the vehicles behavior by eliminating erratic shift functionality and optimizing engine performance will allow Paul to enjoy the full potential of his vehicle.

After observing his setup and some general discussion related to his driving style, we decide to set him up with the Weekend Warrior throttle option developed by Yotawerx.

The comments received later in the day seem to say it all. (See below)

We look forward to seeing you around, enjoy the ride!

805 Tacoma Tuning had the pleasure of setting up this awesome 2016 Tacoma with a YotaWerx tune recently for @mpaz1222 on Instagram and her husband Jesse. Two very cool individuals.

Based on their vehicle setup, we decided to hook this truck up with the Active Duty throttle option developed by YotaWerx.

Seems like we got it right as we received a message shortly after which simply said:

“Thanks Tom, the truck is awesome!”

We look forward to seeing you both around. Enjoy the ride!

805 Tacoma Tuning and @Killacoma on Instagram finally got it done! Joseph was one of the very 1st people to reach out to learn more when 805 Tacoma Tuning first launched!

He made it clear at that time that when he was ready to pursue tuning his truck, he would reach back out. A man of his word, he reached out recently, and we did what we do best.

From the feedback we received, it appears that he is now enjoying his awesome 2019 Tacoma more than ever with the YotaWerx Blackhawk 2.1 tune and the Active Duty profile now installed.

We hope to see you around town, man! Enjoy the ride!

805 Tacoma Tuning and @ry_da9 on Instagram came together recently to set up his clean 2019 Tacoma with a YotaWerx Blackhawk 2.1 tune

After speaking with Ryan and looking over his build, it was clear that his vehicle was in need of the YotaWerx Active Duty profile.

Effectively putting the pep back in this rigs step!

Thanks again for stopping by, guys. Enjoy the ride!
