that'd be interesting if it's different across trims/years but who knows lol.

I did notice the other weekend that if you put it in park, slow down below a certain speed, or even come to a complete stop after the beeping has stopped, it'll start up again lol

My buddy is the reason I am going to pull the dash and clip the speaker for it back there sometime soon. I too am guilty of not wearing it on the backroads out hunting/fishing whatever; but I usually give in eventually out of being annoyed (that's the whole point right?). I also have moments where I like to leave the door open for moving the truck over a quick rough patch at low speeds and I understand that removing that little speaker would resolve that beep too. 2fer1

intake mods, firestone airbags, campershell, backup lights,
the stealership are able to program the computer to NOT ding they will probably charge
you but in the second gen you were able to shut off the dinger yourself. To make more
money the stealership now requires you to bring it in to shut it off.
I refused to buy mine until they did the mods that I wanted.

    Doooo itttttt

You can on these yourself if you can get a copy of Techstream (free from shady websites) and have a usb to obd2 cable. The one that came with my VF software works with the generic tactrix drivers on my test laptop. But there is no way to disable the door open beep, which is infinitely more annoying than the seat belt chime. Yanking that stupid speaker out kills 2 birds with 1 stone and you couldn't pay me enough to put it back lol. Bonus it also gets rid of the click from the turn signals which took a little getting used to but is not a negative.

Well, that was super easy! Took like 10 minutes and 2 tools lol. 8mm socket with 6" extension and t-15 6" bit. This is by far the cheapest mod that I am proud of because it cost exactly $0.00!

I had the same idea a few years back. Re routed the power to the center console outlet. Old gps unit and always on when running as well. One advantage is free lifetime map updates.

My absolute cheapest mod. Attaching the garage door opener to the overhead with a bit of velcro. Been up there for the last 5 years. I couldn’t get the mirror to work to open the door so settled for the fob.

I velcroed my garage door opener on the camera cover behind the rear view mirror. You can't see it at all from inside. Works great.

Carista fixes the seat belt beep but not the door ajar beep. To kill the door ajar beep I'm thinking to switch the beeper with a relay that only enables the beeper when the ignition is on. This would at least kill the door ajar beep every time i park but still have the beeper work for the safety stuff and when radar cruise disengages due to low speed.

Unless somebody knows a better way to kill specifically the door ajar beep..? I didn't see this in Carista but could be wrong.

I did look into the Carista thing once upon a time and didn't like that I had to subscribe. There were unanswered questions I had about that. Also as the other user pointed out, doesn't mute the door. I know removing the speaker isn't for everyone, but I quite like it now that it's out. Simple, effective and free haha

Purchased Toyota Certified, with Vijay bumpers, additional lights, and Falken Wildpeaks on Fuel rims. Prev owner apparently painted the grill.
With summer starting and a new to me truck, I started thinking about a windshield sunshade. The local Bass Pro shop has microfiber beach towels on sale for $14.99, and I like things that have more than one use so I decided to try this out...

    upload_2024-5-30_13-21-42.pngupload_2024-5-30_13-22-27.png

I may add a couple of magnets or a grommet to make it stay in place, but for now I closed it in the doors, and can put the wipers over it to hold the bottom in place. In addition to a sunshade, I now have a towel / picnic blanket.

Getting a chalk bag to fit my 40oz. RTIC tumbler.

Bought it for about $25 from REI and used a metal tent stake to keep it held under the console panel.

Cheap and functional mod. Removed the USB port adapter at the bottom of the armrest box and re-mounted it slightly higher and facing upward with double-sided tape. The original wiring has slack to allow repositioning. It is now able
to be found and used when the top is opened.

Was aiming to add ports to the center console but found this is good enough.
