Sucks that the Tundra engine is having problems. The Tacoma engine is different. This is a Tacoma forum. If we are concerned about future Tacoma reliability, we should be discussing other platforms that use the Tacoma engine.

Lexus sold 49,000 NX in 2022 and 75,000 in 2023, and another 22,000 so far this year. The RX started using the T24A in 2023. They sold 114,000 in 2023 and 36,000 so far this year. No engine problems.

Yes the car engines from Toyota don't have as many problems.

Fingers crossed the Tacoma is reliable. Certainly, Toyota's legendary reliability is just that; legend. If going full-size, get a domestic.

Yeah, always interested in how Toyota handles these issues. They took care of me when my head gaskets blew twice on my brand new 1992 Toyota 4x4 truck with the 3.0L over the course of 3 years. Went on to own it for 11 more trouble free years.

Always watching with interest. How the past 2nd gen frame rust failure played out, Tacoma 040 paint failure is being dealt with, TTV6 Tundra engine issue and how the new 2024 Tacoma platform plays out. This can have an impact on future Toyota purchasing decisions.

It might be fringe-level content but it's relevant enough.

Dude, full-size and yes the f150 current platform has been more reliable and on par with the current tundra. I am well aware of your Toyota bias. Go look at the tundra groups and consumer reports, reviews. The new tundra is no better than the domestic offerings.

At least you could buy a Ford if you wanted one per the post above showing a stop sale order.

Not sure now is the time for Toyota fanboys to be throwing stones.

The "Stop Sale" posted above covers 80 units in inventory, model years 2022 and 2023.

    80. Units.

We were discussing Tundra recall and QC in comparison with domestics. And yes it never was not allowed: Code of Conduct

You're right, I assumed that was referring to just this dealer and their inventory. I guess I will wait for the stop order on the '24's and hybrids before bringing it up again.
