I would do Paypal Goods and Services and offer to pay the extra fee. It's $40 but good peace of mind IMO:

Only downside with goods and services is they've now changed the reporting limits for IRS. Over $600 and you could be responsible for income tax on it unless you want to go through the hassle of finding receipts and proving you didn't actually make whatever amount.

That being said, I still use G&S when I buy or sell gear online, protection for both sides. I'll typically use "eating the fee" as a bartering chip.

Yeah, the IRS thing is a pain. I haven't run in to it yet because most of the things I have been selling online are cheap but it is frustrating.

It was! That one is a 2008 Hypermotard 1100 he just recently bought. Pretty cool bike, they've always been on my short list but don't know a ton about them. Also apparently he had a WR450 before that and it somehow caught fire after his mechanic friend worked on it... the stories you hear lol

Ha sorry no pics, it's so difficult using the front facing camera I barely was able to take those. The DRZ was an older blue S model on sumo wheels, mostly stock otherwise and he was riding the hell out of it.

I took it for a little riding this weekend just to familiarize myself with it, probably do a tame canyon run next weekend to get more familiar but I can tell it's definitely not meant to be a streetbike lol. Chain was a little loose from the previous owner, and even after adjusting it's pretty jerky from N-1-2 and throttle is very twitchy. Definitely wants to sit at the very top of the rev range but man does it perform well up there. I think it's less comfortable and even louder than my S1000RR

The guy actually had some good stuff put into it, and gave me a lot of goodies/spare parts. New Dunlop Q4 rear, GP front fork cartridges, Ohlins rear shock, quick shifter, Vortex rearsets and clipons, GB case protection, Akrapovic exhaust, steel brake lines, and some other small stuff as far as the mods on there. Included a bunch of extra parts like sprockets, chains, chain adjusters, brake pads, some fairing bits, the OEM suspension and rearsets, extra grips, and 2 tire warmers. Not sure yet if the tire warmers work, need to run them and test them out tonight after work but I'm hopeful. Really the only thing I think I might need to add is a steering stabilizer, but I was gonna hold off on that until I get the suspension fine tuned and do a couple track days on it to see how it feels.

man, that sounds awesome! wish I was closer to make that feasible but looking forward to pics!

You'll definitely want a steering damper. I kept mine pretty stiff, the R6 turns so well, but twitchy for sure

Good to know, I'll look into it. any input on the Strut style vs the GPR style? the GPRs seems to be popular for aftermarket, but I'm only familiar with the strut style dampeners.

Yeah oddly enough only the main camera vibrated to death being on the handle bars. The front facing one still works and is surviving further rattling... it's very hard to aim it and take a good pic I should get a new phone at some point ha

Rear has an optical image stabilizer, front doesn't. I've toasted two phone cameras haha

Not yet! I listed it over the weekend, not in a huge rush to sell it though, so hoping to get around $4500-$5k for it. It's no looker, but really the only thing you could really do to it would be new fairings, so if it doesn't get too much interest I might invest in some down the line to pretty it up.

@spencermarkd I find it really comparable to the AT. Definitely comes with the BMW price point at $18k. And the AT is a bit more manual - aka less user customizable settings. Some might like that, some might just want to press a button and go.

Now we're also getting into the $ range where I wouldnt want to be spending - Upwards of 17k+ . Thats where the Honda accels. For something that is basic and I will need to adjust, I dont want to be paying extra. I want the lowest price.

Yeah, he talks about that a bit in the instagram questions. Where it's not uber premium, there are more expensive options to buy, and it's not really the value bike, either. It's kind of in a middle no-mans land. I think it'll be a hit five or ten years down the road when it hits the secondary market.

And, I'm very, very biased, but I still think the original runs of the F800GS are the most slept-on middleweight ADV bikes out there, even to this day the value to features is so high.

Strut style is more of a "set it and forget it" whereas the triple clamp mounted rotary are easier to adjust on the fly. I've had both styles, prefer which ever one is cheapest.
