    Just keep doing what you’ve been doing. 500k says you’re doing it right. No need to change anything.

    Keep using the same oil you are using. It ain’t the oil making your truck run warmer. You need to check your cooling system. Could be the coolant, radiator, water pump, or thermostat.

    Thanks all . I have really done all of your suggestions and more to try and figure this problem out . I was just thinking the thicker oil would help . Not thinking it’s the cure

    I'll add that thicker oil may affect the hydraulic adjusters on the timing chain. May delay their operation.

    Upping one grade isn't going to affect something like that that drastic. I ran a 40wt in my 2009 (had plenty of Euro oil left over) back in the day and no abnormal noises. Fact it sounded a little bit quieter.
