    Wow, almost $300 a sq/ft.
    And I though $200 a sq/ft was high.

Label me poor and live in a shack. Property taxes be damned......

The gourmet kitchen with granite countertops (as well as the wall oven, built-in microwave, and gas cooktop) are all standard...

HUGE powder room. Actually now that I think about it, it's a 55+ community, so it s probably supposed to be wheelchair accessible...

I was about sick when I paid $350K for the house my mom is living in. (1,450 sq/ft)
A tree (technically 2) fell through her house.
That happened in July 2022, and she is still fighting insurance over it.

Rent here in Tennessee is $1,200+ a month.
So I said, find a house you like and I'll buy it.

Not sure what I'll do with it, when hers is finally settled and fixed.
Rent it out myself or sell it?
    I don't know?

I'm currently living in one of the houses my grandparents own while "doing my best" to take care of them.
So it's not like I need to buy myself a house right now.

I just inherited some property on the lake. Still in the process of cleaning it off.
Me and my dad cleared it off in 2000 when I was in high school.
My grandfather used to have some local guys bushhog it a couple times a year.
But the last few years, he didn't have it done. So I bought a Dr. Mower and and took a chain saw and started clearing it off (again)
I couldn't stand to see it grow up after all that work.

Next thing I know, they deeded it over to me.
I was the only one in the family that showed any interest in it.
And they (grandparents) did want to deal with it any more.

I tell you what, Septic is expensive.....
I'm in the process of that now. Being on the lake it needs a "special" system.
More regulations and perc stipulations when you are on the water.

Surprised they didn't go with a pedestal sink, or enclosed unit to hide the plumbing.
I also hope that's "plastic chrome". Because those drains rust out in about 20-25 years.
I know, I replaced many of them.

The lady across the street from my mom, pays $1,475 a month.
Same basic layout as my mom's place.

The house next to her is $1,600 a month.

That would be low for monthly rent on an apartment here. My girlfriend pays $600 to rent a room in an old lady's house. The house has central A/C in addition to Amanda's window unit, and she has to share a bathroom, but doesn't pay any utilities and gets full access to both the kitchen and the laundry room!

No kidding? I know this is high for the area, but my niece pays 2000.00 per month for a small studio plus utilities and parking.

A house here is 3200.00 per month minimum. This is why we can't import operators from other states. They pass out with the cost of homes.
