Bought a Samsung top-loader washer a few years ago.
It won't drain all the water out and it becomes stinky if I don't do a load every 2-3 days.

Next washer will be by SpeedQueen.... old-school beast of a washing machine that lasts for years and years.
No bells, no whistles, just bad-ass washer machine.

If I win the lottery tonight I think I'll go out and buy up every remaining 2023 in existence and just park 'em.

Wash every other load with a cup of vinegar. [5% or a bit more] No soap. Cleans as well as soap and will take away the foul stench. And don't use fabric softener, it molds.

We looked at SpeedQueen, we really wanted to buy one. With 3 kids in the house, we do at least 2 loads every day, 4 or 5 loads on weekends. Capacity on TC5 was lower than on non-commercial models, and price...... I understand US made, but a couple of grand for a washer?

Kinda like why we buy Toyota, we only cry once.
Mind you I don't have one... yet,... but when I finally get sick of this Samsung it is top priority.

Dishwashers are the same, you can buy any name-brand out there and in 2-3 years it will start breaking down.
I did a lot of research and paid top-dollar for a Bosch. Seven years later and I still can't hear it running.
The first time I ran it I thought to myself this thing is DOA but no, it's just that quiet.

The speed queen is like the Toyota Tacoma or Glock 19 of the washing machine world.

My parents had one in a house they bought 30 years ago, the damn thing is probably 45 years old now.

    It refuses to break.

I understand. I moved from a Kitchen-Aid dishwasher (where I had replaced door springs twice, lower arm and pump once) to the Bosch dishwasher myself.

With 3 teenagers at home capacity is something I have to look for as well. Speed Queens will last a long time, no doubt. But they are on the smaller side, top loaders are 3.2 c.ft., front are 3.5 c.ft. Going from 5c.ft. to 3.2 c.ft. (an LG7150 I am looking at right now vs SpeedQueen TC5 or TR7) that's a loss of 56% washing capacity. More washes, more time, more well water usage for me. So it is is not just price, it is ability also.

With just the wife and myself, I do 2 loads a week.... so less capacity isn't a thing for us anymore.

Is that before or after Toyota recalled 102k Tundra and Lexus engines?

Well I'd never buy a 'Turbo' anything... including the 4th Gen Tacoma so that scenario is moot.

Because maybe if enough of us complain Toyota will go back to its roots of making simple, affordable and reliable pickups.
