Looking to get these Lights, But I am having an extremely hard time on what color to get, Clear or Amber, what color did you choose & why?
P.S I don't care if you have diode dynamics, wont spend a dollar with that brand.....

    Yellow.

White light reflects back to the driver more than yellow in fog.

I have the white and put the yellow covers on them. That way I can switch between them if I need to.

    Hey @TRD_dee151,

With looking into getting some Squadron SAE, I know you are interested in the Round bezels ones or are you interested in the direct bolt on kit that we offer for the Tacoma's?

With deciding on amber or clear. Amber will help in dusty or foggy conditions while clear will give you a wall effect in these type of conditions. If you have any other questions or would like to get a quote built out please feel free to shoot me an email at bill@bajadesigns.com

    Best,
    Bill

I’ve had the pocket kit with white leds on my Tacoma for a couple months mainly because I wanted something that helped the weak headlights on road. They are so much brighter than the stock halogen fogs, it’s ridiculous!

Also been running the v.2 SAE in amber on my 4Runner for about a year. V.1 before that for over a year as well, and I didn’t use them on road at night a lot in amber because the color seemed a little too obnoxious with how bright yellow (not amber) and attention grabbing they were, tbh. Found out the hard way I wasn’t a fan of them on road at night around normal traffic in that color led. Country roads and offroad at night they were great but don't get used too much. Most of my wheeling in the 4Runner is daytime because I tend to do day trips mostly and very seldom do a trail at night. Practically zero dense fog encountered where I live in those couple years, so when I got the Tacoma early this year I felt like the white pocket kit was the obvious choice this time around. Would 100% get the white again over the amber for my usage.

@TRD_dee151 I stand corrected sir. Yes mine are the older sports. We live in the mountains so when I usually have to use mine I am either in snow or on dirt roads so the yellow works best for me.

And that's another reason why I also like the sports cause you have that option to change out the lens, but they say those are not SAE ?

Similar use case and experience, how’s the white color temp vs the stock headlights? I don’t mind the amber as they’re actually pretty well blended with my wife’s high output H4’s when shined down a road and not at the wall like in the first pic. But they do reflect yellow off of anything white on the side of the road. Here are some pics:

Right, look at the sharp cutoff line in my pics - sports won’t have that and it will blind oncoming drivers.

I would say the color temp is much whiter than stock halogen headlights. Maybe 4k for stock halogens and 5k for the SAE’s. The intensity and how evenly they fill the foreground is phenomenal. I’m sure you’re familiar with that aspect with the ambers.

I recently swapped to the v2 sae fogs in amber from my diode sae pros and they are going to be a very good fog light where I found the dd to act more like a supplemental driving light.
Thing to keep in mind these are fog lights not supplemental driving lights. They are designed for poor visibility weather so that's why I choose to have everything below the headlights yellow/amber. The reduced glare in poor visibility is worth the output compromise. It's part reason I went back to a halogen headlight bulb over an led.
