The test of "in sickness and in health" (did I REALLY say that, in a courthouse wedding???) starts tomorrow. Wife is having the first carpal tunnel surgery. I TOLD her to practicing wiping with the left hand, but NOOO!!!!!. OK, honey, it's 4 steps from the toilet to the shower with the nice wand showerhead option. No need to call me :fingerscrossed:

At least I get the rest of the week off from work . . . she gets 4 months :help:

Did you get a hair cut?

    Good evening everybody.

Hot day mowing and cutting up some blowdown branches from the last storm. Had to jump in the pool several times to cool off.

Good evening, gang. The "dumb" level at the job hit a new high mark today.. our office/cube-ville is directly across the hallway from the plant manager. Apparently they discovered that they've paid one worker over $25K in overtime so far this year to "tweak" aluminum door frames into squareness so that they pass a QC check point. The root of the cause- the shop is using homemade wooden saw horses as a planar reference for the alignment of the frame pieces.

The plant manufacturers idea to fix the issue- have one of us ( tool design group) design a fixture table so that the machine shop can build the pars and the weld shop can fabricate it. Because a proper welding acorn table would by much cheaper, faster and easier to do, they don't want to do it that way. And once they get something made I'm sure that they'll use their 3' home depot level to set the height properly.

Anyway I went gangbusters after I got home yesterday and got this done.

This is entirely too much like work. What the hell was I thinking when this sounded like a good idea, lol.

Sounds like my last job - if you could do it right, easy, and for half the cost then we didn’t do it that way. Owner was all about cheating taxes so he always wanted to find ways to get tax credits for experiments with new products and machinery. Which meant we got prototype machines built by some company that had never made such a machine before and couldn’t provide any tech support/repair services and that never did what they were supposed to do. So instead of things being automated and fast it was done manually while everyone in the shop tripped over the newest addition to the boat anchor collection (what we called all of the useless crap).
