You may be right but suspect you are giving Perez too much credit. I'd lean more towards the reason for him staying is that Red Bull really likes Carlos Slim's money.

Should have been titled the Interesting Evolution of F1 Cockpits but that wouldn't get clicks. It is still click worthy though.

Depending on where your seats are, be prepared to walk a LOT. Friendly bunch of fans, beautiful venue. Take a raincoat! :)

As odd as it seems, Jacques did a very good job with commentary on the Sky feed. I was expecting Damon Hill annoying but good commentary, but was clear, concise, backed up his opinions with solid logic and had some self depreciating humour.

Discussion on possible LeClair penalty for running inters before track was declared wet, the usual Sky crew said let him go, easy mistake in the conditions. Jacques, penalize him, this is F1, the pinnacle, mistakes shouldn't get a free pass. Karun backed him up.

Unfortunately Danica was bumbling the airways.

I cant believe Im saying this but its a shame we had a wet race. It would have been really nice to see how the field really stacks up after the latest set of upgrades.

IMO Mclaren screwed up by not having Norris keep Piastri within DRS range to fend off the Mercs. Might not have worked out but there was no way Norris was ever going to catch Verstappen. Of course Sargent had a terminal unforced error and Verstappen's wingman Perez was nowhere to be seen.

Albon certainly put his hat in the ring for overtake of the year…

Lando was unlucky to not get his second win for sure.

    Canada didn’t disappoint.

Solid race, obviously wish Lando had snagged win #2 but good to see McLaren have true pace. Lando making an honest overtake on Max towards the start of the race was promising.

Several teams had the strategy right but only one driver nailed it under all the conditions and did so for the win.

I'm really liking what Jacques brings to the commentary. He's compromising with his takes and backs himself up. You can agree with it or not, but I find it refreshing from the watered down pillow soft opinions of most commentators.

On camera, he took the needling from his co workers over his Riciardo statements with a smile and chuckle but backed himself up by congratulating Danny Ric on his result but also rightly cautioned that it was only one race and he has done that before.

Smiling media darling Danny has done little since leaving Red Bull. Won Monza after the infamous Max/Lewis crash out and was otherwise a failure at both Renault and McLaren.
