I rarely keep a blue. Some people love them, I can take or leave it. This is Island Beach State Park in New Jersey. 10 miles of 4x4 accessible beach year round with permit.

 

A YouTuber I follow, Sea Money Fishing caught a blue that size in the NJ backwaters and ate it on the spot in the marsh, raw. He had some sauce and avocado with it. It looked tasty

 

Chris is a good dude. I used to run into him occasionally on the beach. I think he moved to Rhode Island It’s been years since I met him in Jersey. I asked him how he always manages to find fish. He says for every video you see of him catching there are many more you don’t see where he didn’t catch anything.

 

I think I’ve watched every one of his videos. I don’t blame him moving out of Phila.

 

Today was one of those days that you just figure out the pattern and slay them. We caught somewhere between 35-40 bass today. Largemouth, smallmouth and spotted bass. 6 over 3lb. The two largest here were a 3.6lb smallie and a 4.4lb largemouth. Oh and a 5lb flathead on a jig. Second one this week to take the jig. They must be active.

 

hahaha. Now I can’t say I always have it this good. I usually catch some but I’ve never had it like that before. We hade a storm front come through at 3:30 yesterday afternoon. I think that had a lot to do with how the fish were feeding.

 

Had a good day yesterday with a buddy. Limit of specs with a couple of nice ones

What time of the year do you find them spawning in PA?

 

prepped for sum snakeheads in the early am, solunar table is 4 stars, which usually means imma comin home with skunkage and ticks, these are the official tick ponds of chester md...

 

whats the best bait for catching them tick fish you speak of?

 

spawn has just finished up in most of pa.
I make a point not to target them on the beds.

 

Yeah spawn is had been over here for a bit. Starting to catch them in deep ledges in 12-18 feet with deep. Diving crankbaits.

 

welp, i was talking bout all the ticks @ these few ponds...now to answer the ? bout catchin snakeheads.i aint got that figured out yet, but imma up @ 3 am tamarra and try em again..

 

Good look. I’m out fishing today. So far 16 bass this morning. Taking a break and then gonna hit it again this evening.

 

hahahaha. Where in fish 4 feet is deep. Most of the water I am in is 20-30”.

thankfully I have a boat made for shallow and rocky.

 

5lb 1oz largemouth this evening on a jig and a 3lb 3oz smallie on the same jig. Quality fish today.
