TRD off-Road equipment differences

Hey I was wondering if one of you might know what the model of bilstein shocks are on the TRD off-Road equipment package? I would like to find a set. Also has anyone driven both with and without. In an environment that it would mater?
According to the pamphlet from Toyota slightly bigger tires the shocks, a locking rear diff, skid plates, tow hooks and off-Road graphics are the only differences between my truck and a TRD off-Road version.

Hey I think if you get your rear TSB AAL's done, they give you a whole set of bilsteins all around from the dealer if your truck qualifies. TW members, correct me if I'm wrong.

 

I've yet to have mine done, I've read that some get them some don't, depends on the dealer. However, for the non TRD trucks I believe it states in the TSB that the shocks are to be replaced as well as an alignment being done. (they all should get the alignment) It would be a good idea to print out the TSB and bring it in with you to make sure they do everything the TSB states.

Yeah I think your right about the non-TRD trucks. They should replace all 4 shocks I believe.

 

I also have origional oem bilsteins from my truck with only 10,000 miles. Trd package. I dont have any use for them.

 

I would say to just go out and buy 5100s, IMO they ride better than the TRD Billys

Get the suspension TSB and you'll get the TRD shocks & new leaf springs for free.

 

07 Access Cab, under 36k miles, you are covered for the suspension TSB and non-trd will give you all 4 Bilstein's and 4 leafs. Print it out and take it to a Toyota dealer.

I just had my suspension upgraded to the TRD Bilsteins, I drove it for a year before having it done. My opinion on the difference is the ride is stiffer/more responsive, such as when hitting a bump the truck use to bounce a few times before settling now it bounces less and settles faster. I'm pleased with the ride quality of the upgrade.


Edit: Just noticed you have the 4cyl. 5 lugger, which still qualifies for the TSB, but some have had some issues due to the way the leafs are mounted or something like that. It has been addressed in a few threads around here, so happy searching. I'd suggest you find those threads, print out the Access Cab 5 lugger posts that said they got it completed and take that along with the TSB to the dealer.

I was able to have the TSB performed on my truck today. It took them most of the day. But I have a new set of shocks and my rear leafs are new too.
