Yeah, an "OD top cap" 2.5" will work.
Several customers have used the King 2.5"x14" short body (with OD top cap).
@AccuTune Offroad knows the part number and who we recommend for tuning

 

A couple questions. Is it better to have the limit on down travel be the shock or the leaf pack. Such as my Deaver N98 with a 2.5x12. Or would I be better off with a 2.5x14 (short body) and have my limit be my leaf pack and get it strapped in. And how much lower will the lower shock mounts need to be with a 2.5x14 short body vs a 2.5x12 and is it really worth it to get that slightly longer shock.

 

Neither, limit straps are best limit.

Hi, another wheel offset/spacer question. I have the hammer hangers and - 12 offset RRW RR7-Hs. Could anyone please give insight if a 1.25" wheel spacer is enough for some 12 or 14" smoothies in the rear with icon Rxt leafs?

 

You always need to know the tire size for spacer questions

-12 with 1.25" spacer should clear a 285 with smoothies

 

I understand that. Its going to get strapped in regardless of my choice of shock. But if i did get a 2.5x12, wouldn't my down travel numbers be limited by my shock? Or is the small amount of travel more I would be able to use out of a short body 2.5 x 14 not even worth it with my leaf pack.

 

My bad, I have 295/70r17s but looking at 35x12.5r17s to match the rear LT?

 

IDK, maybe 2" with your -12 offset wheels and 12.5 wides

 

With a light duty Leaf pack (usually more flexible), I would say go for the 14".

As promised, here's the first set of pics after the installation of AG shock relocation tower, shackle hangers and cross tube. I am running 2.5x12 triple bypass piggyback, Deaver Stage 3 leaf springs and hydro bumps. The shock tower had to be modified a bit to fit the piggyback. I am running SCS F5 -38 wheels wrapped on 35s with 2inch spacers (to match +2 TC long travel kit in the front) and no rubbing at full flex, at least not with a fork lift. All the work done at Shaffer's Offroad in Union City, CA.

 

Just upgraded my suspension and pretty much did the whole AG catalog but now I’ll be adding a rear bumper and from the looks of my leaf springs looking flat…might have to go with heavier leaf springs. Would the heavy duty be enough to support a rear bumper with swing out and tire mount with a 35tire or go up to extreme duty? I don’t plan on getting a sleep camper top.

 

Sounds like you have other brand springs currently, couldn't find a leaf spring order from you.
Our HDs can easily support 1,250 lbs added to rear axle weight.

Keep in mind guys that a swing out bumper is an overhung load, with CoG about 4 feet behind rear axle, that mod alone can total 400-500lbs that the leaf springs need to support.
(An overhung load behind rear axle makes front axle lighter, and transfers weight from the front to the rear axle.)

 

i do have a different brand leaf springs…at the time I didn’t think the truck would snowball as much as it has. Figured since I have most of my rear end AG. Best thing to do now is go with the leaf springs from you guys. I am running a front C4 bumper and the truck is a prerunner, lighter front axel isn’t an issue.

 

I spoke to the shop that installed my suspension and they think spring under is my only option? I don’t think so and think the HD springs should suffice for the rear swing out and spare.

Thought? Pro and cons of going spring under.

Thanks for all you knowledge here. Can you still install the Shock relo and install a tray? No one has given me an answer definitively but I have seen some setups with your relo kit.
