I guess if your under 18 you cand talk on the phone at all, not even with a handsfree.... read that in the San Jose Mercury News....

 

wait so i just read on one of the sign boards over highway 80 that starting jan 1 2009 there will be no more texting while driving. thank god for this one.

 

The handsfree hasn't stopped very many people around here from driving with a phone in their hand so I doubt this no texting will do much good.
No meat to the law. Just a small fine and whatever else the officer can write you up for, tint, exhaust no front plate etc.

 

o i'm not saying that the law is working, i know so many people that just don't care. it kinda sucks because it sounds good on paper.

 

Problem is that it doesn't count against your driving record. You can get as many as you can afford to pay for. The law made a lot of people feel good and that is all it's done. Standard Legislation here in Kalifornia.
