I think those people are just lumping anything not on the base truck in as a “premium” package not necessarily the literal 10k premium package

Yes I am not talking about premium you need to buy a $4680 UPGRADE package for power/heated seats, sliding window jbl sound system and ac adaptor in bed

All I want to know is what I should expect without any "upgrades"

You can see what options you can get (and thus don't get) on the Toyota build site.

It was my understanding that these trucks had to be bought as built and couldn't be spec'd out yet.

Nothing could be added or removed, if the window sticker said mudflaps, youre getting the mudflaps.

I went to 3 dealers and they all said the same thing. Funny how nobody is mentioning that here.

I've seen several comments where a dealer was able to change options if requested early enough in the allocation process.

That's true. But you can at least get on the Toyota page and see what options come with what packages so you'll understand the window sticker.

In the TRDOR you have the "Base" which gets the 8" screen and no heated seats or inverter or sliding window. Then theres the "upgrade" that gets those options along with the JBL and the 14" screen. In fact the JBL might even be it's own upgrade. And then "premium" gets the dual climate control and cooled seats with all the cameras and stuff.

Makes no difference what you want though. You have to buy what you can find.

At least I did. I would've opted for a couple more options and not got a couple that were on my truck.

Might be easier to find what you want if you don't want a manual though, I just wanted a White TRDOR 6MT and the sales people at all but the last dealer kept saying "it's a unicorn"

And apparently it was, there wasn't one to be had in Georgia. Only 5% of Tacoma production is 6MT they said.

I think the Truck Builder on the Toyota site is just for them to collect data on what people want

Hopefully these questionable package decisions change at the refresh in four years and maybe, just maybe, things like a rear slider, automatic seat, and dual climate control will become standard like they were on the 3rd gen post refresh.

I agree, I figure I'm going to get the base OR with heated seats for now and if I hate it I'll upgrade After market or new truck later down the road.

The "upgrade" package is how we got from a $39K 2023 TRD OR to a $49K 2024 TRD OR. You aren't getting an upgrade, you are just buying back the standard equipment from 2023 at a 25% price increase.

Imagine how much crying there would be if they made the 2024 cost the same as the 2023's and just devalued the whole 3rd gen.

Two days ago, I was at a dealer with five low-mileage 2023s. They were all stickered at around $46,500.

I traded my '23 3G in for $3000 more than I paid for it new, 12 months earlier. Used 3Gs are already worth more than a new 4G.

I concur with everyone its ridiculous that a rear sliding window is considered 'Optional'. How else are you supposed to haul 16' lumber or standard 12' pipes? Haven't they always had rear sliding window? In my 1st gen it was all too easy to break in to but saved me a couple different times!

I like the look of no portal. I never use mine. Slide down like the Tundra is cool though.

All the manual lovers start reviewing your rides and make the rest of us jealous already. Rmember the days when the manual was cheaper than an auto?
