My mother was telling me last night about when my grandfather talked about about d day for the first time since he landed on Normandy beach a couple years ago she said she never seen him get so emotional before. Must of been harding to see and hear what he was talking about. My papa passed away a couple years ago. Both of my grandfather's served in the military mother father was in ww2 and my dad's father served in the Korean war. My father dad never spoke about it.

 

Whats sad about it back than they knew nothing about ptsd. Or how to treat these guys for it when they came back home.

Unfortunately east of you is where I'm at. Just hoping it gets less muggy. Had the AC off last night with the windows open and it felt like I was sleeping in a tent when I woke up. Super humid.

 

That's why I left the ac on last night had that feeling it was going to do that

 

Yeah, I moreso meant it's hard to figure out where the noise is coming from and it could be in the rear. Picked it up after hours from the dealer yesterday and it instantly made the noise in their parking lotFiore Toyota in Hollidaysburg is my problem child.

Terrible. We came in early today for repairs in a enclosed parking garage , hot and muggy! Now I have swamp a$$ for the rest of the day.

My dad served in WWII. The only things I knew about it were that he'd served in the Pacific Theater and that while serving had contracted malaria. He never spoke of anything more than that.

 

That's the dealership I bought my 2013 Baja from new in '13, it was on their lot for a day and a half when I saw it. Went back two days later when I could take a day off work and drove out there to buy it.

 

Yes, I picked it up at the facility. As far as I know, all their covers are made in Philipsburg

 

And we continue to be slow to provide effective tools for those that go through these situations. We have renamed the cause numerous times...dating back to WWI, we've called it Shell Shock...Combat Fatigue...into the 80-90s it was called Gulf War Syndrome.

On this day though, those that found themselves on Omaha, Utah, Gold, Juno or Sword beaches changed the course of history.

 

My dad was on a sub in the PAcific in WW2. He talked about life on the sub some. At his funeral, my uncle told me about all of the engagements his boat was in. Different generation for sure

 

I know a lot of sub vets, takes a different breed to work in on of those tin cans. All great guys.
