This morning's load; I picked up the freezer yesterday...

I have never seen anything like it before and I'm pissed; I first saw the freezer in a neighborhood near mine while driving my mom's car to the mechanic for new inspection stickers. Obviously, I can't fit a large freezer in my mom's Murano. Even if I was in the Tacoma, at the time the freezer would not have fit because I already had a full load of scrap (see above). The freezer was complete when I saw it in the morning; I finally got back to the freezer with an empty Tacoma in the early evening, and was amazed to see that it was still there. As I got closer, however, I realized that it had been stripped cleaner than I've ever stripped a fridge. In my experience, scrappers usually take the whole damn fridge. All of the value is in the compressor and the coppers, but the gutted shells of a fridge or freezer can bring $15-$30 depending on size/weight. These assholes, however, decided to strip all of the valuable parts and leave the shell; I still took the shell, but I was pissed because I hoping for a complete unit!



I also decided not to scrap the BMW exhaust because a quick magnet test determined that the muffler was made out of aluminum. A couple of scrapyard employees also convinced me to see if I could sell it. Unfortunately, it would see that while complete 2022 BMW M3 exhaust systems were going for almost a grand, ones that were chopped off behind the cats weren't desired; I chopped the steel exhaust pipes off with the Sawzall and scrapped the whole thing...

 

I bring the Generac with me now in case household power isn't available to run the Sawzall...

This morning's load; I got the shelving and the baby swing from the same guy who gave me the vacuums, and the rest is the remnants of Gwyn's neighbor's above-ground pool...

The scrapyard will not take wheels with tires on them, and removing the tires was not easy, even with the Sawzall!

 

Guess you found out why they dont want the tires on the wheels!

 

Nobody wants them. My mechanic used to get them off the wheels for me, but the guy who takes his tires charges a disposal fee of $3.50 per tire...

 

This part of the fireplace from the house in Glenside ended up being too heavy to lift into the truck last week, and I ended up getting it on Monday with help from the homeowner's workers...

 

What I did end up fitting in the truck last week...

 

I ended up getting more than $50 for these aluminum chairs!

 

I had to leave my 36,000 BTU treasure unsecured in the bed of my truck in the parking lot at work for eight hours yesterday; I was afraid someone would steal it, but my fears were for nothing…
