Mine’s a typical 3 car, but looks bigger here because I took the photo as a panoramic. The guy I bought the house from worked at a nearby airport and he got a bunch of free airplane hangar carpeting. I planned to take it all out when I bought the house, but you know how it goes. I can’t deny it’s a lot more comfy laying on carpet than cold concrete though. The downside is I have to use drip pans and be more careful with fluids and greasy parts… well, I used to be more careful. After a few years I stopped caring and figured I’ll just rip it all out once it gets all stained. Problem is, it’s all 3x3’ squares that are glued down, and I have enough clean leftover squares to redo the entire garage over again. So who knows, maybe I’ll put down all new fresh carpet in a few more years, or maybe I’ll ditch it altogether, I dunno. I’m just thankful to have a garage, after working on cars outside in the dirt for most of my life.

this is my favourite so far. Just because it’s what I wanted to do but the garage isn’t big enough for both cars and a guy with cool ceiling lights so… next house I guess

My favorite quote: "We dive at 5". One of my crew then asked "that's got to be in the morning Chief, because we drink at 1700, right?" I had to answer "that is right Petty Officer, at 1700 you'll find me in the Goatlocker".

i've thought about it, would work a ton better than the six 8ft strip lights i have in there now. problem is it would block access to the rafters i'm using for material storage..

One of the first projects when we moved in was to make the garage able to fit 2 cars. After living in a condo there was no way I wasn’t parking inside every night. Got a small work bench, need to figure out how to get more work space somewhere.

Small, but does the job- keeps my Taco WITH topper off the street! Funny story: just bought the place a few months ago and drove around with my realtor looking at places. At each one, I insisted we check if my truck would fit. These are condos so there's not much difference in them, but in this one I can clear with about an inch to spare!

Nothing fancy by any means, but I really wanted to park INSIDE!IMG_20240621_224504454_HDR.jpg

If you look at my ceiling lights.... This was a wide open bay and I framed and enclosed my "man cave - I love me" room but decided NOT to change the bulbs over the man cave area. There is enough light up there if I ever want to crawl up and install more speakers or overhead lights in the man cave area, but I really like the whiteness of the LEDs in the remainder of the shop.

Question.... does your mirror have Toyota HomeLink mirror or are using a Liftmaster push remote? Many people are still using the visor mount for their remote. I found a Liftmaster keychain remote and used velcro to attach it to the lower portion of my dash on the left side of the steering wheel. I have read about others on the forum that have dismantled theirs and mounted a momentary switch, hiding the actual remote. I just cant see spending the money on an after market mirror.

She just fits, so does my 4Runner. I'm building a house in a couple of years, which will have a three-car garage, deep, and taller doors.

Very nice, Chief! What size is your steel building? Looks like 40 x 50ish.

I just use the Liftmaster button remote on the visor. I got two with the place. What's the advantage of using a keychain one mounted lower- security?

I bought the house pre-taco and I'm in a (large) hail prone region so when shopping for tacos I knew it had to be in the garage - so no long bed for me. My garage configuration is 2x 2 car garages offset with 4' walkway connecting them - i like it. I've got a commuter parked on the drive but when bad weather is in the area I move the bikes to the back patio so there's room for it next to the taco.

One housing the taco and the other housing the land cruiser and my better half's car.
