Morning all. Been working like a madman. Finally finished the "digging" part of the retaining wall. Layed 20 bags of gravel. Getting more gravel delivered today along with 225 locking blocks. I am hoping to have the first course later out by tonight.

Still contemplating and doing some maths.....I REALLY want to put a water feature/pondless waterfall in the wall.

 

If Jason has 20 bags of gravel and 225 interlocking blocks, how many beers will Jason drink in 12 hours?

NOBODY SAID THERE WAS A MATH QUIZ TODAY!!!!!

Went to a different chiropractor today.

This guy that does taekwondo with me has his own business apparently, and I only found out last week about it because we were talking about back pain, injuries, etc. He told me to stop by his office and bring my MRI disk since I was telling him about my issue, and what the so called "back specialist" at the ortho place said after I did the MRI.

So he looks at it, and is like "yeah... it's not a muscle thing, it's a disk thing". And shows me what he sees, explains to me what he sees, what it's supposed to look like, etc. Gave me a full explanation on everything as he's looking through the pics and showing me stuff.

Said it's not a "bad" thing necessarily, and that it could be much worse and it's in the lower part of the back. Forgot which L he said it was, but said based on what he saw it's definitely not a muscle thing. And forgot what he called it exactly, but it's the stuff between the disk that isn't in good shape anymore and it's causing the disk to bulge out a bit and touch other stuff causing pain, inflammation, all that crap. Said it's pretty "contained" to just that area so that's why he said it's not a "bad" thing. And that based on that, there's things he will do to hopefully help with it.

So this so called "back specialist" at the ortho place is a fucking moron. And going to keep going to this new chiropractor instead of the one I had been going to since he saw the MRI, and knows what I really have and need. Hopefully this thing won't get worse, and it'll get better now that I'm in the hands of someone who actually knows what they're talking about.

Guess I'm part of the old man's club now?!

Got a good sized pile of slate slabs at the bar way going into my woods.
As I was loading some on to the trailer, I look up and there's a 300#ish male bear no more than 10ft in front of the tractor.
I froze up and he stopped a few times but didn't look at me.
Close enough to hear him breathing.
I just shut off the tractor and was making noise loading, he couldn't give a shit.

If he turned and took a couple steps, I would've had to make a call.
May have to switch calibers and carry something a bit larger for yard work duties.
10 feet is a bit unsettling.

 

I'll stab and say 1 or 5 on the L..random guess but the exact discs that trouble the Cupcake. Bulging disc might be what he said?

There's a lot they can do. She's had the issue half her life at least and been able to manage it with the chiro.

Old, bah..hers started in her 30s, I want to say early 30s.

Either way, hoping to stay on top of it and managing it by going to see him regularly.

 

It will. In theory she should go every 6 months or so for the proverbial tuneup but never really has, just when it starts barking.

 

I'm gonna try to go every week. Better safe than sorry.

Really hoping this will keep it at bay, and not "flare up" like it's been doing lately.

 

Took my mom and the kiddos out on the river today.
