When I worked in Chicago a few years ago it was impressive sitting there on a bench, looking out towards Michigan but the horizon was that of the ocean. They are massive bodies of water than is kinda hard to comprehend.

1st gen is becoming my favorite over the 2nd gen, like the little body trucks...they fit more cool places

 

Tahoe has that feel in the winter when you can't see the opposite side of the lake. In the summer when it's clear you can easily sea across. Emerald Bay by itself could be a pretty good size lake.

 

yeah see, if I just saw that photo I would swear it was a pic of the coast. It's kind of funny because having lived near the ocean most of my life, I'm used to people seeing it for the first time and remarking about how incredible it is. To have that same experience with a lake of all things was definitely unexpected.

Also, the only time I get a little uneasy while flying is when doing so over a vast body of water. I used to say 'over the ocean', but now I've experienced that feeling over a lake so..

 

Chicago; great place to visit but don't ever recommend living there

 

yeah I don't mind cold but the thought living in freezing cold with crazy wind....no thanks.

 

Completely forgot about the wind chill; yeah that shit sucked but you'd never leave the house without fully being covered (face included)

Sure it's big, it's like Lake Pend Oreille I grew up near, it's big but not "the horizontal n is flat" big.

Meh, when flying you give up all control of the situation and only 2 things will happen. 1. Land safely without incident or 2. You'll be in the evening news. Once you accept that it makes things easy.

I would be north towards Buffalo Grove. Have a plant there. Just would require me to give up on my outdoor activities as I know them today. It is a nice place.
