so since we're on the topic of hydration packs...is there a bladder out there that doesn't make the water taste funky? I've tried a couple of different brands and they both leave a nasty, plastic taste in the water. I haven't used a hydration bladder in a couple of years and have been carrying bottles around with me because of the bad taste.

    A few bolts are different.
My Camelback does well. just dont leave it in the sun. and after a drink get the water out of the tube so it doesn't bake in it.

I agree, my Camelback tastes fine. I fill it up prior to my ride and I'm good to go. When done, empty out the water, clear the tube (make sure you do this as my previous post states) and hang to dry. The new bladders have arms that come out and hold the mouth open to dry. Plus, clean the bladder out every so often per Camelback instructions. Don't let the funk grow, don't heat up the water and you're good.

They dont really even help with the freezing. I have found that if you use both the skinny sleeve with the bigger one over it it worked ok. I dont use them any more just blow the water back into my bladder and stuff my hose into my jacket when Im snow shoeing.

I always throw some accelerade in mine on rides or even a decent hike. I hate the taste of the water in kansas, and that balances it out. Nuun also has some good stuff.

I got lucky and only searched for a week. But it's a Leonard Shell. I had an ARE CX series on my double cab and I loved it. The Leonard shell looks good but the back window seems flimsy compared to the ARE.

I buy at REI because of the kick back every year and the confidence of if I need to return anything.

Depends on the camping if Im in my truck I have my big Coleman grill. And hiking I have my snowpeak which I just replaced my msr pocket rocket with. a bag, tent, clothing layers fore sure! Some boots, or trail shoes. What camping are you doing like drive in type? Because then you can get all crazy with chairs and all kinds of stuff. When I camp in my truck I load it up and eat like a king :)

REI is good there are cheaper places, but become an REI member. They will explain the rest.

How's this one? It would just be me and the gf or me and one other person. But I am 6'2 250lbs. I figure the 3 person would be better than the 2
