I mean yea if someone says they called the dealer and explains the context of what happened.... Kind of weird for someone to make that up.

 

I’m gonna call the dealer to ask if anyone called the dealer. I’m sure they’ll understand when I tell them a bunch of anonymous dudes from the internet are very concerned about another anonymous dude and his fabricated truck story. I expect they’ll be eager to help us get to the bottom of this and not think it’s completely bizarre at all. I’ll post my findings in a spreadsheet.

People that are actually curious about 4th Gen engine issues could read a thread much faster.

It would also give you the option of learning about 4 runner model years if you really wanted.
