Also what I did with my black widow and vibrant resonator, I don’t see why people buy entire cat backs when it’s much cheaper to buy a muffler and have it welded in by a muffler shop. You also have a much wider selection of mufflers to go with

Silly question, but would the TRD air filter fit inside the stock non TRD air intake box? I ordered the K&N drop in filter, but after reading multiple threads and reviews I'm returning it back to Amazon when it arrives. I too want to go with borla s type, since its a bit cheaper than the TRD. Isn't the TRD cat back louder than Borla exhaust?

Yes it fits, a lot of people run the trd filter in the stock air box

6 years later, still love my Borla s type cat back. Just the right amount of noise for me.

I thought the same after I installed my Borla catback.

The only advantage is they did use better quality steel.

With the TRD exhaust & Borla exhaust similar in price/quality/sound, why did you go with one or the other?

Ok going off track with this one but I've decided I am going with the dual exit FlowFX. The only complaint I've been seeing is people saying after a year or so the finish on the tips starts to chip/wear off. So now I'm looking at tips and I came across the oem black chrome toyota bolt-on tips, does anyone have the specs on these (i.e. inlet diameter, outlet diameter, overall length)? Wanna see if they'll bolt onto the flowfx kit.

    Tips: https://www.extremeterrain.com/2016-tacoma-exhaust-tips.html/f/?Brand=Toyota

Also read some of the pedal comander horror stories out there and decided I'm going with the banks pedal monster, I'll let y'all know how that goes.

It is not that loud. Even my wife loves it and she hates loud trucks. It sounds really good. No drone.

Sorry about multiple posts, having technical difficulties lol. Tried to up load a video of my truck starting but it won’t let me no matter how much I shorten it.

You could have drilled a few dozen holes in the factory muffler and got a similar tone.
