After 30 days with my trd or, I noticed a slight squeek coming from the engine. I can guess it's a bad bearing or belt. My bet is the water pump. However I'm told by the tech that it's likely the ac clutch/compressor and he wants to replace just the clutch. But I'm also told because the vehicle is so new that their are no parts available yet. I don't know why they would lie to me, but I had to argue with them for a while to admit that something was even wrong. So I guess I'm wondering if anyone else has heard about parts not being available?

It's available but its on back order, so there wouldnt be an availability date until its processed.

It's semi true, but semi false. Gotta be patient, but it wont become available unless they actually put the part on order.

From my experience where i work, parts are hard to get and typically leed times are long so i would bet the dealer wasnt lying.

Honda Injectors have been unavailable for months on some vehicles..not unusual nowadays to be waiting on parts

Here’s the problem: Automakers make money selling cars, not fixing them under warranty. Years ago I remember Chrysler actually taking a part off the assembly line to fulfill a back order situation. Not the case anymore.
It seems now, that once they have your money, automakers don’t care. I’m under the impression that the shareholders are more important than the consumers in this day and age. The post pandemic world of manufacturing is a mess.

With that said, just be patient at least it not something that renders the vehicle unusable at this point.

"It seems now, that once they have your money, automakers don’t care. I’m under the impression that the shareholders are more important than the consumers in this day and age." It has been that way for a long time, across all areas of industry, but it seems to be reaching a fever pitch. As CEO's generally have lots of shares, that's where the priorities are.

Work @ blue oval shop. There is usually 20 vehicles sitting 6 plus months waiting for parts mostly transmission and diesel side. Gas bread box sat 1.5 years waiting.

everything is backordered, seemingly nothing is readily available down except maybe screws and fasteners.

    supply chain management? Pfft, please.

Just the QC issues I see on the trucks sitting on dealer lots right now give me a strong “don’t buy first year” vibe.

If you haven’t bought one already I’d humbly suggest that you may want to do your own “QC hold” for a while, and throw that down payment into a CD instead.

What I've seen so far here and on forums (probably missing a few things):
    - active grill shutter CEL
    - cracked evaps and no A/C
    - window seal issues
    - the spoiler cracking on the roof
    - paint defects like under the paint
    - damage from port and still shipped to dealer
    - headliner fabric issue (dude got a different one on lot it was so noticeable)
    - gap issues with tailgate
    - pulley squeak
    - rear diff howl (similar to third gen howl)
    - camera in front not working when over 100 or so degrees (member in AZ said it affected his adaptive cruise, etc.)

I think there are still supply chain issues.

I tried like heck to find an OR with and Upgrade package and 14" screen. I was pounded on the doors of four dealers and broker, Jim Rouleu. They aren't on the lots or allocated. Some owners have ORs with those two packages, but they aren't producing them at the moment. I had to bite into a Premium package to get what I wanted.

No, in fact like a lot of you, I don't know ow if the compressor is always on or not. However wven
No it continues intermittently. It does it even if I turn up the temperature.

Cool story, and your paint def isn’t flawless, no manufacturers is these days. Maybe not littered with debris but not “flawless.”
