I have a 2023 Tacoma short bed. I am in the process of setting it up for towing behind a motorhome. I have installed the tow baseplate, breakaway switch and a power supply for the Brake Buddy. I am going to order a driveline disconnect from Superior driveline tomorrow. My question is about the drive shaft. Superior will send me a rear section of driveshaft with the disconnect installed on it. Does my NOW driveshaft just pull out of where the carrier bearing is or do I need to remove the entire driveshaft to replace the back shaft with the new one? Thanks for all help.

^Unbolt the driveshaft from the differential pinion flange studs and the rear portion just pulls out of the slip yoke.

The driveshaft is balanced at the factory as a complete assembly with the three U-joints and carrier bearing. Replacing just the rear portion may lead to vibrations at highway speeds, in which case you'd need to take the complete assembly to a local driveline shop to get re-balanced.

Superior provides the rear driveshaft that includes the slip-joint.. it'll come with a u-joint (cross) on each end. You'll connect it to the yoke at the rear of the forward driveshaft then re-use the yoke/flange in the rear.

You're welcome. You didn't mention a brake light solution. I'd recommend the Roadmaster Led bulb/socket kit as it remains completely separate from the Tacoma's oem wiring.

Or, just tow the Motorhome with the Tacoma... (haha)

Or..... buy a piece of junk to tow behind the Motorhome.
    Or..... just take the truck.
Or..... Strap on a scooter to the back of the Motorhome.

I installed a set of set of tail, brake, running lights between the tailgate and bumper and ran a 4 wire back them. These light strips are about 15 inches long and are LED, pretty bright.I connect this when towing. They are completely separate from the Tacoma system. Thanks again!!
