As stated before, Amanda and I bought tickets to see one of the buildings. Mayflower and Quaker are open for self-guided tours, but tickets are purchased separately. We opted to see Mayflower, and ended up not having enough time to see Quaker before the attraction closed for the day. We will 100% be going to see Quaker! Anyway, I documented our entry into the Mayflower building...

 

This was in one of the bathrooms. The whole building was frozen in time, and I can tell you that the year 1979 called, and wants its light fixtures back!

 

This bathroom had no urinals, so I'm assuming it was the ladies' room...

The asylum closed in 1987, and over the course of the next two decades, people broke in and vandalized the place. The buildings open to the public were gone over to make sure they were structurally sound, and fitted with emergency lights and exit signs as required by local code, but once that was done they were largely left as they were found when the current owner bought the property. My guess would be that juvenile delinquents with baseball bats took out their frustrations on this poor toilet, which looks like someone used it recently...
