Well now, didn't this make for an interesting day...

Since we did the road trip yesterday Mrs Green took a vacation day today. She left to do some errands around 1 pm and I was working on some paper work -- she calls...

She put gas in her car, now it won't start.
I don't see what could be wrong -- after all it is only 28 years old with 192,000 miles. :notsure: Off I go to the rescue. 15 miles away.

Seems like the fuel pump. Fortunately there is a large U-haul station about 5 miles away. :)

...With no drive on trailers available, it is close to 5 pm.

The manager got on the phone and located one about 20 miles further west, and the fellow intended to be there awhile. :) (40 miles so far)
On the way back we stopped at TSC for a Come-a-long, I have several but they are 30 miles east of the car. :ballchain:

Get back to the car (65 miles) which is in a large open parking lot.
Fortunately a store employee and a passerby on a bicycle helped me push the car on the trailer. :fistbump:
I gave them my heartfelt thanks & 5 bucks each. Off to the garage (90 miles).

    Return the trailer (135 miles)
Stop at TSC and return the unused Come-a-long.
Finally home at 9 pm, (160 miles total).

    ... But wait! There's more! ...

Thanks for the walking me through your decision.
I really enjoy diving into the options and doing the pro-con on the major ones. From what I can tell-

It goes in sequence from basic to extras -
    Ex, Ex-L, Sport, Touring, Elite
Touring and Elite have the rear streaming screen for movies and shows for the rear passengers.
Elite is the only trim with ventilated seats, which I use constantly in my truck.
Elite comes stock with 19" which the intraweb tells me rides worse than the 18" that everything else has.

I'm just still kinda scratching the surface my wife is ready to sign anything thrown in front of her.

With the anvil like reliable daily van off the road (although the little Subaru has been also) plan B is for Mrs Green to drive the XJ Cherokee. I went out and cranked it up, checked the tires and fluids, everything seemed fine when I took it for a spin around the block. The Cherokee is a rocket compared to the Tacoma BTW.

    .
    .
    .

... and :censored:, blew a brake line in the driveway.

Mrs Green has a chauffeur to work tomorrow -- at 4 am. :pout:

This has the makings of a long week...

I drove a lot of K cars in the service. I certainly never had a desire to own one!
