Yeah, I was going between these and the KO2s in this size and opted to try these as I haven’t ever tried Toyos. Took a week to get them as they aren’t readily available right now I guess. Discount set them at 35 PSI cold and that’s how I ran them. They were 30-31 PSI (cold, sitting overnight) by the time I got the to our destination (11,000 ft+ in elevation and sub freezing, even in June!) and 39-41 PSI warm on the trip after climbing and weaving the mountain passes.

300 miles on mine now and I like them. They are a *touch* noisier than I’d prefer, but not bad and the wife even said they’re tolerable (and she’s picky on these things). I’m just concerned how they’ll get with age.

A few miles off road and 300 on road through the mountains and I like them.

I think I’m 10 lbs a wheel/tire combo heavier than stock, which isn’t bad…I’ve ran setups 30 lbs heavier than stock and definitely was avoiding that by going with this setup. Averaged 21.6 MPG over a tank and a quarter and felt no notable feeling of power loss, through the mountains no less.

Didn’t buy a matching spare at the time, but just acquired one and need to shove it in there soon, but it’ll fit with no issues.

The second pic is a great angle. I think they look great - just the perfect height, even better than a 265/70/17, which is only 1/2" taller and what I am considering. I may have changed my mind about the tires I was upgrading to.

Overall I really like them. I am thinking I’d do 265/70R17 LT next time, but I’m a bit undecided. I have a long time to think about it though. I do think they look fantastic.

I am going with Michelin Defenders; they offer both sizes. Just checked their website - quite surprised that the 265/70R17 LTX M/S are only 0.2 pounds heavier.

Nothing wrong with that plan. If you go with the 255s, I imagine they will look skinnier than my 255 Toyos. The lack of beefy makes them look considerably small. I had 265/70R17 LTX in my Frontier and they looked pretty skinny even. Good tire though. Considered them for mine for better road manners but think I’m gonna continue to rock the Toyos.

    17" Icon Rebonds w/ LT255/75/R17
Hello, I'm new to the site and this thread was helpful so thought i'd share. Maybe will help someone else down the road.

Tires are LT255/75/17 M/T, Rims are 17" Icon Rebound, 8.5" wide, 0mm offset, and 4.75" backspacing.

Suspension is stock. Removed mud flaps, there was some rubbing inside the wheel well on part of the fender flare that kicked out some. Used multi-tool to remove and you would never notice its gone. There is still some light rubbing inside wheel well but not constant, only on sharp turns where there is a bump or dip. Will be getting a lift or something to level out the front in near future.

The ride feels a bit rougher at times and there is a MPG hit but they are larger tires and M/T so thats expected. Nothing I cant live with.

Wish there was a light weight all terrain tire in the size of 255/80/17 (Tall skinny light weight 33's) so ended up going with:

    255/75/17 Kumo AT52
    Readylift 1.5 Level kit upfront
    Method 316 25MM Offset

Hello , I´m between 265/70R17 AT KO Load index C , and the 255/75R17 AT KO Load Index C as well , the taller is even lighter no a lot but at least it is not heavy... My truck is lifted 2.5.. has somebody of the group drove both and see if there is a big hit in MPG?... I know that the MPG is not just weight... but in this case is the same thread, rubber, etc... narrower versus taller...

Hello... I just lifted my truck, I´m between the 265/70R17 or 255/75R17..It is my daily drive car, and It is mostly on road... I´m looking the KO2... I understand that the 255/75R17 will increase a little bit the lose in MPG ... both In this case the KO2 AT comparing the two size both on Load index C ... the 255 is two pound lighter than the 265/70...
WEIGHT 47.27 LBS and the 255/75 WEIGHT 45.48 LBS (I took this info from the Discount tire page)... what is your experience, or recombination about it?

I've heard everything from it will fit with stock everything, to you need a CMC for full clearance (especially in off road situations). Getting a alignment and moving the front tires forward away from the CM helps to.
I have 255 Toyo M/t E rated on SCS F5 0 offset and I needed a CMC. I have a ~2" lift and camburg UCA. The 0 offset pushed the tires out flush with the fenders (maybe barley poking out because it's a knobby tread).
As far as looks go any more positive offset would make the tires look to sucked in. Having a more positive offset would probably prevented rubbing though.
