As wazepd alluded to in post #5, it is the DCM that transmits your vehicle information to Toyota.

 

From a Toyota website, “Yes, you can opt-out of Toyota Service Connect by pressing the SOS button in your vehicle or through your Account Settings in your Toyota app. If you are having any difficulties, you may contact the Toyota Brand Engagement Center at 1-800-331-4331.”

this is a great opportunity to start practicing "NO". most purchases don't require it, but they ask anyways for your email and number.

 

Is there a way to disable the telemetics with out disabling the built in mic? I would assume that it's the same mic used for android auto and Apple car play.
