    We fenced in our gardens this year and put chicken wire along the bottom and along the ground outside so digging creatures are confused when digging about where to come up. This has so far stopped our deer, rabbits and groundhogs.

    I had a garden for about 10 years and the only thing that I really really wanted to grow was tomatos. The only thing that I absolutely could not grow was....tomatos.
    Oh sure the damn okra did great. The squash grew faster than the national debt. Peppers? Yep, had them. Corn? Shit yeah. Them nasty ol watermelons? Yep, grew like weeds. Carrots? Yep. Cucumbers? Hell yeah. Tomatos? Not a single fucking tomato. Ever.
