We picked up our 2024 TRD Sport a little while ago, and we just took delivery of our AT4X yesterday.

GMC really did their homework. If I had to put one of them on the chopping block, the Toyota would be long gone, and it's not even close.

just a couple of things tbh
so im interested what did the op choose lol

personally i wouldnt go new... did it once and it went bad for me... new ford ranger 2022 loved it until the trans left the chat... now would i trust the new tacoma? hell no... not for another year or two... now would i buy one after its proven to be decent? again no... its an ugly truck with a crazy high price... ill keep my 2nd gen tacoma (which btw is my second one) and if i ever need another truck im buying a tundra with the 5.7 done with shiny new turds that leave me stranded....

but if i had to choose between the options you have id say chevy it looks good its comfy to drive and has some neat colors toyota nah

    I looked at all three:

The Ranger interior was meh and the seats felt like they already had thousands of ass hours in them. Anyone that’s driven fleet vehicles knows what I’m talking about. I didn’t even bother driving it.

The Colorado was nice but the seats are too firm. The interior is comical how bad the plastic is. The auto stop/start is annoying. There’s no headlight control readily available. As far as I could tell there’s also no backlight on the climate control buttons. The center console and door armrest are too high. It’s like a cockpit feel and I couldn’t relax my knees. The ZR2 is nice but way overkill for what I need.

The Canyon is nicer but it’s a cherry on a shit sundae compared to the Colorado.

The Tacoma just feels right for me. Comfortable seats, practical interior. All of the new technology takes a few days to get used to but it’s kind of cool. I’m not sure what everyone is complaining about. The fit and finish is just fine and comparable to my 2020 Tacoma.

the GM 2.7 turbo has been out for a while. Designed from ground up as a truck engine. So far it has been pretty reliable.

I haven't decided which one looks better from the outside, but it's a landslide victory for the GMC on the inside.

I am probably on my last Tacoma, I like it but for the money it no longer makes sense. I have friends with Canyon/Colorados and to a person they all like them. At work all we had were Fords (F350,F250,F150,Rangers) We had issues, but thats pretty normal when you have a different person behind the wheel every day. My company issued F150 XLT had a few issues, but I put 64,000 miles on it in a year and it was overloaded a bunch of times. Not all me mind you, I was 110 miles round trip from the office and all the office girls would use it to pick up supplies, and once or twice a day one of our drivers would pop into my office and ask can I borrow your truck for a delivery. The F150 and Rangers were a lot more comfortable than the Tacoma and the miles per gallon rarely fell below 23.

Buy what you like, reliability is a gamble now no matter what you buy.

The GMC looks better on the outside, IMO. The Tacoma design team tried too hard, LOL. How does the GMC drive/handle so far?

The DSSV shocks are awesome. We took a rip on our woods trails last night, it's like butter.

Right, so it's a manufacturing quality issue, in which Toyota is supposed to be the industry leader.

Regardless of the root cause, it is a quality issue that reached the end customer. We'll see how well they take care of everyone with the recall, that's the real test of a manufacturer in my opinion.

I went from a 2008 access cab to a 2015 crew cab. It had enough updated tech for me and still had the old tech that I loved. It was like getting a new truck without the worry of unknown engine reliability. I still wouldn't trade my 2015 for anything and I work in the automotive industry. I get to regularly drive all sorts of makes and models.
