I've only had 3 bikes. 2 Hondas and the Yamaha. Rode a dirt bike ages ago, but no clue what kind it was. I just know it was yellow.

for the most part (99%), I've only ridden dirt oriented motorcycles.

Owned a few Suki's. On my first Kawi. now.

Ridden Hondas, and the above. and my daughters HD sportster a few times around the neighborhood. cannot stand the seating position at all on that thing. My legs don't spread like a woman giving birth, anymore.

Edit: Lately I've been browsing the E-bike stuff and came across this last night.

I have owned Honda, Suzuki, Kawasaki, Yamaha, Harley, Ducati, Indian.
    Ridden a Polaris, and Aprilia.
I like to try them all and usually don't keep one too long. Probably owned close to 50 between street and dirt. Right now it is an old 1973 Ironhead, my 02 Low Rider, a 2001 Honda RC51, 1976 RD400 (project), a 2016 Suzuki RMZ 250, and 06 Yamaha YZ 125.

    Vincent must have been interesting!

Amazingly the friend I referenced lays claim to having ridden bikes from well over 60 different manufacturers and has a logbook with all of the details. At one time he raced Moto Guzzi and actually was a dealer for them for a while here in PA.

I got to ride a pretty big variety of bikes during the years I worked for a dealership so that helped with my numbers ridden.

Raced Guzzi's. From PA. Didn't work with a dentist named John, now, did he? LOL

The Vincent was, But I put Egli Godet as a qualifier. They are an approved manufacturer of "New" Vincents in France. Obscenely expensive. Absolutely Gorgeous, one off handbuilt bikes. This wasn't an original. I've seen and sat on an original, but never ran it.

    upload_2024-6-14_9-48-51.png

Guzzi's are a unique machine. Simple, but still need care. With a visceral mechanical clatter (Noise AND feel) that either causes euphoria or complete lack of confidence. I know a couple of racers and plane builders, interestingly, that love all machines and makes, but only own Guzzi's. Of course this is older air cooled bikes I'm referring to. Now that they are so heavily engineered by Aprilia, and liquid cooled, much of that 'charm' has left. Still unique, with the transverse twin, but tighter, if that makes sense. If I was in the NEW bike market, I'd still lean towards a Guzzi. Big in the Pilot community. Makes sense as they were born from 3 Air Force comardes in WWI.

This is a good topic, had me thinking back to the random test rides and friends bikes I've ridden. Also anytime you want to add Husky or KTM to your list let me know! Zero would be an interesting one to try.

Owned: Suzuki, Yamaha, Husqvarna, KTM .... (Honda and Kawasaki too if including quads, on the ridden list if bikes only)

Ridden: Harley Davidson, Triumph, BMW, Polaris (quad), Scooters I've rented not sure on the brands

The friend is Blaine Paulus. If you Google him you'll find he's an interesting individual. Revzilla interviewed him and did a write up about him several years ago. Man rides everyday, like every.single.day. He keeps pretty meticulous records of which bike, start and finish odometer readings, time of day, weather info and more. 10 miles or more, on the street regardless of weather, and lives in PA. Covid finally knocked him off his bike after 21 years, 11 months, and some odd days. He's well over 1.3 million miles at this point. I've known him for about 25 years now, not super well, more of an acquaintance but super nice guy and very well versed in just about any sort of motorcycle around.

You can still get a new Guzzi that is air cooled. Their little shaft drive ADV bike is. That was actually one of the things that steered me away from it. Love them for making a smaller shaft drive bike, but I'm lazy and want the ease of the Yamaha/Honda maintenance (or lack of) requirements.

Morning day 7! Whew made it through the first week. Pressure is still pretty strong but has a different feeling like healing pressure. Hard to explain. I took out 90% of the sutures that were in my mouth yesterday. Fucking torture devices made out of fishing line. That felt amazing after that. Still have a couple in the very back of each cheek but all one ones that were holding my gums to the denture are gone. Feels so much better. I still have a couple under the denture but they will stay until my next appointment on the 25th. Healing is going well with the exception of one spot on the back right of my mouth. Not sure why it’s so irritated but it’s the only spot that is really annoying. You can see the white spot at the rear.

the honda was a friends dirtbike years ago when i was a kid. Triumph I got to ride for about 3 miles. I haven't really had a chance to attend any demo days, and don't really feel comfortable riding others' bikes as a liability thing.

Picked up the BMW yesterday. Couldn’t be happier with how it turned out…even happier to be able to finally get back on it. Perks of picking bronze...now my ebay rizoma mirrors look like they match, instead of being faded lol

Need to remove the red wheel pinstripe and install the new tank grips tonight

I’ve also been riding everyday. Literally. The only day I haven’t rode in the past couple months have been either when I haven’t left the house, or the couple days I had to take the truck out of town for service or to sell wifeys car. But I definitely participated in the Ride to Work day Tuesday.

Plug Uglies Wrecking Crew. We’re a music support club. Basically a whole bunch of small town punks and metal heads across the southeast.

That side profile is slick and pretty, but the asymmetrical headlights make my OCD twitch. LOL

Haha thank you! It's not for everyone but I love it, which is weird because I typically LOVE symmetry. I also feel like it's more noticeable to other drivers but that could just be in my own head.

Yup my dirtbike has a "natural" color IMS tank that you can see the fuel level. I measured out half gallons at a time from empty and marked on the tank those levels.

Oh my word that sweeping exhaust is freaking BEAUTIFUL.

ya the natural is great for that. im use to it with my dads dirtbike since his is also the natural color. i wanted the ims for the drz but the cost and overall size was honestly worse then the acerbis...
