You said the cable attachment points were loose and you tightened them? Im betting you can loosen them again, reorient to take up some cable slack and retighten

Take it back and see if they have any other 2023 TRD Pro's on the lot.
Park next to it if they do. Compare and contrast and then grab someone and ask if they can see a difference.
They should concur that something isn't right and tell them to fix it.

Goodddd lawd bud, and some of my buddies give me a hard time about my eye, how observant I am and my OCD.... You def take the cake, but I'm not knocking ya. Good for you for noticing and expecting things to be correct. I just don't think I would've noticed that in a million years.

Honestly, the only reason I noticed is because when I loaded the 2x4x8’s, they were teetering up and down.

Update: brought in my truck to the dealer for the infamous weld splatter recal and had them take a look at the tailgate once it was there. Ironically the shop Tacoma they went to compare to had the exact same problem of the bolts backing out, and had gone as far as bending the mounting point to a harsh angle. They then went to look at a customers truck and it was level without an issue. Their current resolution is to order new cables and to see if it corrects the problem.

In better news (sarcasm) in the 8 hours that they had my truck, they installed fresh scratches on my front bumper, rear bumper, and drivers side taillight to rear bedside panel. I am fucking peeved to say the least. Not even 8000km (5000miles) on the truck and it did not even have a rock chip in the 1.5 years I’ve owned it. I avoid the dealer at all costs but I didn’t really feel like I had a choice to bring it in with an airbag, and rear axle recall which could cause serious harm. I’m really not fond of the idea of repainting for what is cosmetic damage, however I feel that it is unacceptable and they should somehow compensate me.

Didn’t you say it is a 2023 TRD Pro? Is there an airbag recall? I only know of the weld splatter/rear axle recall and have heard nothing about another.

lt is a 2023 pro. There is a recall for the spiral cable behind the drivers side airbag, and mine does need to be replaced.
