not all banks require home insurance.

 

wrong. rates don’t go up just because your call your insurance company.

 

filing a claim does not mean you cannot still pay out of pocket. in fact, the term “filing a claim” isn’t what people think it is.

 

it’s not just “provider” that determines rate changes.

 

I've never seen a mortgage lender that didn't. Certainly not in Florida. How else would they protect themselves against loss?

 

not all states offer that coverage and there can be stipulations on when it would pay out. not just because it’s a hit and run.

i have so much equity in my home, and verifiable cash, my bank doesn’t care.

 

Been mortgage free for several years, both houses. But when they did have mortgages, proof of insurance with them as first payee, was required. That was several houses and different lenders.

In fact, having a HELOC even requires insurance, even if there is no conventional mortgage. And we have more verifiable cash that the value of both homes.....

Well ins determines that daughter not on policy and boom….rate increase
U call ins comp bc hail dmg. “Oh yeah we moved, the vehicle is at this residence addy”. New county new rate.

Let’s hope not Harris county, overtook Orange County for most vehicles/most drivers/most uninsured drivers/high rates

 

here’s a scenario i deal with - daughter not on your policy? policy cancelled and you’re banned from us for 7 years. now your premium is $0. but at least it didn’t go up!

 

I know what it means. I also never said you couldn't report a claim to the insurance company and still decide to pay out of pocket.

Never said all states offered UMPD. In fact, "varies state to state" is a perfect example of just that.
