It means adopting a German Shorthaired Pointer. Just a normal dog adoption. Haha. Typing GSP is easier than typing out the whole name.

You can rescue them like other dogs. The main reason Im not and Im going through a breeder is because most of the ones that are in there is because they have failed as hunting dogs and thats what mine will be used for. Im not saying that the rescued dogs wont make great pets because they will. I have rescued two dogs before and both have been great. But I have a gun shy aussie now who I love and use to be a great hunting dog but hates the loud noises now.

I hunt with one that is really good around kids. Unfortunately he doesn't get enough attention on a daily basis since his owner is still in school so he gets pretty clever and becomes a bigger pain in the ass each time I see him. But it seems to make him work harder during hunting season. Probably because he's so frickin glad he doesn't have to be stuck in the house.

That's why I'm waiting. They take a lot of exercise and I just don't have the time right now.

They are a very needy dog but so is my Aussie. But I run him all the time. And if I cant run him I throw the tennis ball out my front door for like 20 mins in the morning.
