Don't want to beat a dead horse here (and probably a stupid question) but will having the tires toed out slightly try to pull in two different directions? My question is will it put unhealthy stress on my steering components in this short drive or will it just make my tires drive kinda diagonal?

It'll stress some stuff but it won't be too awful for 5mi. Wears on the tires and the suspension. Toed in is better than out

Maybe I'll air up the tires a bunch for as little resistance as possible

Good looking truck my guy. About to check out your thread but fwiw im running kyb monomax for a t100 on my rear. Bushings took a little finagling but we got there. Ive got stock front suspension and a bastard leaf pack with stock main and two leaves from a chevy 2500 cut to work. The monomaxes are doing great! Been on for 3ish months.

I feel like my current leaf setup is too stiff. It does the work truck thing well, but only feels any sort of civilized with a serious load. Perhaps im a fool for wanting a daily hoss that can handle and has power, but here we are. Leaf reworking will be coming, as well as an eventual rear sway. Once the handling is dialed mo powa will come

    Good morning.

And given I don't have ac kind of a big deal ha

Edit: yes you can, called window guides.

I think I know what part you're talking about.

I might have a usable spare in my collection. I can check tomorrow if you want.

If it broke at the spot welds, you can also repair with teeny nuts and bolts.

Yeah, I love the compass/temp, and garage door opener in the homelink mirror, I did the 4Runner sunglass holder, the overhead lights aren’t going to be quite so close encounters of the third kind as the headlamp you mounted, but they’re plenty bright for me. I’m going to put additional red LEDs on a switch in them and the overhead behind my head to tone it down late at night, hate having the super bright light take away my night adjusted vision

Yeah spot welds failed on the lower mount I'm guessing a while ago. Because the top mount pulled through the door itself so i'll have to use a very large washer there.

How long does that take to do and price? You have to send them your engine?

Quoted 5 months, the Customer service is outstanding, walked me through my order start to finish, the 5vz is $4.5k but there’s a $700 core charge for your old engine. They pretty much won’t sell it unless you promise to send the old one back. That being said between shipping and whatever is fucked up, I’d call it pretty much $5k. I’m using the opportunity to refresh just about everything I can while it’s out so buying all new motor mounts, hardware/bolts, hoses etc- anything you can do I am doin (except clutch, just did that) - so the whole shebang is running me about $6.8. $1k down to get started.

    worth it for me

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!

    You won't be disappointed.

Nick has a very good shop. And Nick is a very good guy. That shop is about 10 miles away from me. I'd be in there weekly shooting the shit with him (and probably buying shit) if his hours weren't pretty much the same hours I work lol.

These motors the heads start having issues around 400k 500k up from head gaskets to cracked heads and valves getting way out of adjustments which is a big project to adjust. Boosted motors really should have ARP studs.
I ordered new heads from yota1 that I got yesterday as a backup with ARP studs.
My 1st motor the heads cracked at 480k with head gasket issues too. My current motor that I replaced at 480k has 400k, so this time I’m getting ready in advance. I’m using ARP bolts because the high miles I have and Im replacing the heads instead of the motor as low mileage motors don’t really come around anymore and not willing to gamble on JDM. I thought about a complete rebuild but 5-6 months is a long down time for me.
My motor runs great burning a little oil, a quart per oil change,5k,but I’m not too concerned about that right now.
Not a cheap road but everything is all brand new and all valves adjusted, seals, seats ground, etc and I know it’s all done correctly.
My current valves on the passenger side does have some ticking noise (possibly valves not seating anymore) coming from it and that’s why I just decided to go all new.

turn around time was 3 weeks!
