This portion of my coverup/sleeve is finished. Good ole inner arm and elbow. Was a whole lotta fun. I know it's not the most majestic space tattoo ever, but covered up my old garbage and that's all I care about

Personal expression. Could be all those things you mentioned and many more. To each thine own.

This guy gets it. I didn't have tattoos until I was 41, but I never saw the need to shit on someone for their choices.

My Star Wars tattoos start many conversations with complete strangers, I love it.

Definitely a good icebreaker. Though one of my tattoos has to remain hidden when I'm around my parents..not a Star Wars one.

I hid my tattoos for years around my dad. He always thought it weird I wore long sleeves in the summer

My dad reacted better to me getting tattoos than I thought, in my 20's he told me he'd kick me out if I did it. My mom almost cried even when I got the zodiac tattoo.

They're very religious and the one I have to hide would definitely offend such beliefs.

Got this Sunday. Never had any tattoos, but inspiration (by way of my children) finally came so I wanted to do this.

    -Yep
    —Not for you to get
Expression, therapy, culture, walking art gallery? Ain’t your body… why do you care?
-1% covered by other means of reckless hobbies.
-Peers? Pfft. Only person I gotta make happy is me.
-As you stated. You don’t get it, and likely never will. Ain’t for you to get.

I have em for a bunch of reasons, I can see my dads art when ever I want, laugh at memories, remember who I am when I forget and have no one to tell me, win a bet and get a free drink when no one believes me that I’ve got a t-Rex and corgie tattoo and best of all… to make the churchies squirm because I decimated my temple (stain glass windows are the same thing…).

They start conversations, they’ve helped kids make it through a transport in the back of an ambulance (at the horror of their parents as I let their kid color my coloring arm with a sharpie or two), and best of all? They show me who’s cool and non-judgmental, and who I don’t want to be in my life.
