Mine did not come with the lowering the rails. I’m well aware of what 99.99999% of other MX4 installs come with. Mine didn’t. It came with a 2 piece clamp ordeal that uses the existing rails. They don’t come off or get moved down by slide in brackets like everyone else got. I’m got some bullshit clamp fuck show.

I think the lack of a relocation kit is new. When I got my MX4 it came with the relocation kit. I reached out because I run a Softopper sometimes with my truck and sometimes the swap gets tedious. They don’t sell the new kit on its own. Looks like I’ll be avoiding it if they ever do.

The relocation kit is in the 300+ range. I’ll deal with the immobile cleats for now. Not ideal but I’m moving forward with it. It’s what I get for getting a deal

did you buy it directly from BAK? Doesn't make sense to not have it - I bet they shipped the wrong bits. It's a great cover when it comes with all the right parts

I went to do the AC drip line mod and found that it had already been done. I suspect the shop that has done most of the work on my truck just took care of it and forgot to tell me.

Already been through the wringer with this dude. Got the cold shoulder pretty much. I’m gonna contact Bak during the week to register it for warranty and see where I can get from there. I’m not totally screwed. I got a functioning tonneau. But not what I expected as I explicitly wanted to keep the use of the rail cleats. It’s not the end of the world and I’m actually intrigued to see how this thing holds up. If it pisses me off, I’m getting a roll up.

    No. I don’t want a Lomax

My dad used to let me drive his 1976 Land Cruiser on the beach when I was 10 years old. I am 58 now and still drive a Land Cruiser.

Nice rig!!! We just sold my 07 and I'm about to sell my 91 rebuild. Our plan is to do a FJ40 next. It will be our 4th rebuild. But sheesh 9 to 19k for the starter truck is crazy. Most the tubs are shot and that cruisers parts make finding a flux capacitor seem simple...

He loves loves loves dad's old trucks... it's our family thing, wreching and skiing. I tell him find a person who respects you, the mountains and toyotas. He can take my MT PRO to college. By then it will be almost a decade old. But ill still be rolling around getting margaritas with his mom in the 80. ;)

Yeah FJ40 parts are expensive and getting harder to find.

My Toyota dealer did Icon Lifts, with SPC Upper Control Arms, BFG K02 All Terrains on my 2023 TRD OffRoad this weekend. Not super high like some people.:D

I did a full detail on my Tacoma today. Decontamination, light polishing and a full Adams ceramic graphene coating.

Sorry if dumb question. But is it “time consuming” for ceramic coating? I was considering Adam’s Ceramic Graphene coating myself, but I probraly don’t have enough patience to do it right. I tried the “half a$$” style, using cheaper brand, nobody noticed.:D

Well, “Happy Father’s Day” to all you fathers out there. Maybe take a minute during this early morning when everyone else is still asleep, you are having that first cup of coffee and reminisce about the good times when we were still in the midst of fatherhood (a lot of you still are) mine are grown and moved on, but it was nice to think about…. Now that that is over, I think I will grab another cup of coffee and check and see what upgrades, mods, and general nice to have items are available for my Taco. Happy Fathers Day all. :)

The time consuming part is the paint prep. The decontamination, the clay bar, the washing and the paint correction and the cure time. It's definitely worth a days work considering how much faster future washes will be.

I actually used Adams ceramic graphene advance coating. It's VERY forgiving. I've used other coatings and the Adams is the easiest I've used. You don't get high spots as easy.
