    Thanks @MTgirl were pretty pumped. Accommodations are all made. No real itinerary. Just places we would like to go/see. Def Polebridge Mercantile and Bowman Lake. GTSR obviously. We’ll have to figure out a couple other things. 2 days staying in St Mary KOA and 2 days in Kalispell. Recently found out the owner of the company I work for will be at his cabin in Missoula while we’re traveling through. Probably meet up with him for a drink or two on our way to Bozeman and Cooke City.

    Hey all, I'll be moving from Butte to Helena soon for work and I figured I'd see if anyone who either lives or has lived there has opinions on which areas to avoid? It seems like a lot of the more reasonably priced places that come up for rent are in east Helena, but a lot of the neighborhoods there seem to be less than trustworthy.

    if you need any flat land for parking good luck. not a spec of flat anywhere up there. i had looked at moving to helena last winter but couldnt find a place in the time i had to decide. also, not really impressed with prime rentals. i went up one day to look at a couple of places and was interested in a couple of places that they had advertised as well. couldn't get anyone to answer a phone or call me back to make any arrangments. figure if thats how they treat prospective tenants how to they treat their actual tenants?
    not sure. i know MT recognizes CC permits from almost anywhere but not sure how that translates to tribal land. are you just driving through or planning on spending any amount of time in/around the rez land?
    @OneGiraffe might know - she's over by the flathead area

    Unfortunately that seems to be pretty common. A lot of these rental agencies seem to know that they have an infinite pool of candidates willing to pay outrageous prices no questions asked, so they don't bother putting in much effort at all.

    (406) 338-4000 is tribal law enforcement. I've always just kept my mouth shut when passing thru but only spent the night once camping. Everything I see on google as well says contact the tribal law enforcement. Sorry can't be of further help on that one. :notsure:
