Was ordering the Fuel string trimmer last night with 8AH battery

Told my wife "I'm finally getting one" only for her to ask me to stop, then hands me my Father's Day card

    HD gift card ftw :D

You'll be happy, the 8ah battery lasts quite a while, extra heavy grass boughs it down but it does good even biweekly cleanups.

I’ve had the trimmer for a few years now. It works awesome for a normal homeowner. That being said it doesn’t like being used in blazing hot weather not that I particularly like weed whacking when it’s hot either. You just gotta use your brain and plan around it. 2 strokes wouldn’t care if it’s hot blah blah blah. I wouldn’t have the M18 weed wacker if the two(Echo and Stilh) 2 stroke weed wackers I already have didn’t have some sort of a carb issue every spring and needed constant maintenance to make them go. It’s nice to be able to set it down to move something and not spend a couple minutes trying to get it going again then get the shit vibrated out of you and have your ears ringing if you couldn’t find the ear pro.

    Just picked her up!

    20240616_132116.jpg

I was mostly excited about the 8AH battery as I have several HO and non-HO with the biggest being 5AH

What I didn't realize is that it comes with a rapid charger too

    20240616_132614.jpg

Given away so many regular chargers, I'm glad to finally upgrade to a better one myself

I mow/trim every 4-5 days so my yard never gets long enough.

    Same

I use my EGO lawnmower for that, but I've been slacking on edge clean-up and pulling weeds on account of this heat

I like the liquid weed wacker in the areas that aren’t too sensitive. I use Ortho ground clear and it will turn weeds a grass into dirt. It’s pretty potent though and needs to be kept away from things that you want to live. It killed an old Lilac bush and a 40’ birch tree before I knew how potent it is.

My trimmers/mowers/anything yard related are going weeks between uses. Here in central NC it has not been raining very much.

I pull weeds 1-2x a week or more. If I get behind, there’ll be new ones all over quickly

Everything I've tried has been useless.

I'll have to look up to see if I've used that stuff or not.

I’m the only one that seems to do that on my block. It drives me nuts when my neighbors can’t at least maintain their front

Picked one up last week along with the brush cutter attachment. Took care of the backyard jungle with ease.

Fortunately it's mainly the backyard for us, the front is clean

Then again so are the neighbor's front yards; they all pay for their landscaping to get done...I ain't made of money :bananadead:

If you want to get rid of them permanently, get a black tarp and rocks/sandbags . Cover the area you want cleared of blackberry for the summer letting it bake the roots dry and after rack the dry plant/roots . Did this over 10 years ago and I’ve never had to mess with it after that

I ripped out the sod and did turf and rocks for the back. It was way too much for my allergies and anxiety to keep doing. The front is simple, and I usually enjoy it

It'll be half turf and half cement in the coming months

But cement ain't cheap, neither is turf :bananadead:

Nope and get the good turf so it lasts, especially if you have dogs
