The second one is my vote, but if you have a connection to the first one I might consider that one instead. Why not keep them both?

Given this, and that it’s a BT pick where the barrel info is kind of meaningless and not on the bottle label, I’d definitely keep the second one. I was gonna suggest you perhaps cut out the logo and barrel info from the first one and hang from the bottom of the other one but that’s not an option.

I misread the cruise literature on what booze you can bring on the boat, so had to leave these guys behind. Just reunited with them this morning.

If you’ve ever thought to yourself, I wonder how bourbon tastes after spending a hot week in June in a minivan in a parking garage in Cape Canaveral, well, I’ll be able to answer that question soon.

Decided on another revisit with Denver’s Leopold distillery.
(1)Dickel triple distilled Leopold collaboration. Initially I hated it. Sat on it for 2 months, visited it again. Second note…the nose is really good, it’s got the typical Dickel mineral taste, but mellowed down. It’s still a little harsh on the finish, and kind of flat mid palate. The brown sugar notes save it, but it’s not worth $130, really not even worth $80.
    (2) Leopold Maryland Rye: It's a little pricey, I believe I paid around $75 (need to check that). It's rough with proof up front (but only 100), and rough on the finish. You can detect the rye notes, but it's very single note. It's got sweet rye, brown sugar (very light), and some orange peel, maybe some cloves and black pepper, but it's honestly, not anything I would buy again. Sagamore blows it away if you are into very Rye forward Maryland style.
    (3) Leopold 8 year. O.K. now we are talking!!! 119 proof, three chamber distilling, home run! This is really good a true banger. On the nose it's very similar to a high rye Tenessee bourbon. Sweet on the nose, vanilla, cinnamon, brown sugar, and almost a bit of a wheated funk. Very smooth mid palate, sweet, dark fruit forward. On the finish, it's clean, not harsh, you can feel the proof, but not in an ethanol type of vibe. I believe I paid $80, and it's a great pour, really good. Hey now!

What are you doing with them? I like both, but depending on what you are going to do with them would decide which I’d suggest.
