Put 255/85/16s on stock OR wheels and suspension

Wow. That looks great. I may do this with mine when the time comes. Can you provide a side profile shot with these tires?

 

I love that look. Curious, now that it's been a month, have you had any rubbing? Still happy with your choice of SIZE/TIRE?

 

I’m about a month in with 255/85/16 AT4s on a 21 OR. No noise, smooth ride, seem ok in rain although I’m never in a hurry so YMMV on that.

From stock tires to these I lost about 1.5 mpg.

Did you correct the odometer?

 

Have not yet, just living with the speedo being a bit off. Never calibrated it before so maybe it’s better now.

 

You may not have taken a 1 1/2 mpg hit if your odometer isn’t correct. Once it’s corrected you may find your mpg’s may be better than you think.

Outside of a tune, is the Hypertech what you guys are using?

 

tune won’t correct for that. Hypertech seems to lose some of its accuracy over time. From what I have seen in the threads. Plus your ODO is never really correct. New tires are larger diameter. As they wear down they are smaller diameter. So ODO is probably calibrated to do an average of stock tire diameter from the factory. Not worth losing sleep over or spending $ on hyper tech. My two cents.

 

If anything, the miscalibration from larger tires comes out in your favor

 

I compared speed from two apps to speedo yesterday. Both apps showed speed within 1 mph of speedo- I can live with that, probably well within tolerance for the system.

 

Sorry officer my speedo said I was going 70.

Wescott lift with 255/85/16 Wildpeak MT tires and Method 702 wheels.

In the future I plan to go King or Fox suspension but for now I’m enjoying it the way it currently is!
