When I worked at AutoZone. I helped a lady out with a CASE of oil.
She popped the hood and add one quart.
Then she added a second quart.
And started opening a third. Never bothering to check the level in between adding.
I told her that she, "Might want to check the level".
To witch she said, "It's my car, I know how much oil it burns".

Fair enough........

 

I check the oil level in all my vehicles every time I get gas, even the Toyotas. You just never know.

 

I'm just picturing the car from Uncle Buck with the smoke trailing behind it lol.

Not a bad habit for sure. I still check mine occasionally when I get gas, but i've never had to add any oil in 90k miles on my Taco so I have kind of forgotten the impending sense of doom that was the old days.

 

I saw a lady putting a couple quart jugs of Pennzoil in her Charger at the grocery store the other night.

 

There was an episode of Roadkill where they were taking a roadtrip in an old Chevy Luv or maybe it was an old Hilux. Anyway, it burned like 50 quarts of oil on their little trip, even got pulled over because it was smoking so bad.

 

Same, you have a sense of what vehicles you own burns oil. None of my Toyotas or Hondas burn or use any oil !

 

Exactly, 1979 bought in 1991. Only 92K but being a 4 cylinder it was underpowered which probably didn't help. Plus back in those days it wasn't a shock to have an oil burner around 100K.

Sounds close to mine, though I'd get about a week on mine first.

We called them mosquito killers.

 

I brought Amanda's new (to her) minifridge in from the garage last night and left the glass shelf sitting on the hood of my truck, and promptly forgot about it; I drove home roughly 8 miles, then drove eight miles back to Amanda's so I could pick her up for work. I then drove her to work and drove nearly an hour to Macungie before I noticed that it was wedged beneath my rock guard!

Me neither, but I watch the Boston teams in playoffs..my grandpa loved them all and I think of it as spending time with him even though he passed 22 yrs ago

 

No. I don't really watch sports.
And the two worst are Basketball and Golf.

I don't watch much TV. I watch YouTube.....
And I'm too cheap to buy Premium. I'm still watching the ads.

 

My grandfather is still alive at 87 and watches UT sports.
I know when they win, and I know when they are loosing.

 

Because he cusses when they losing?

 

That's putting it lightly.....

 

The big 4 are it, I like baseball but rarely watch. Football is the game. Hockey and basketball, playoffs only. Never cared to watch any other sports except darts.

My grandfather was 94 and the Patriots won the first Super Bowl in their history 11 days prior to his passing.

He'd always talk about what bums some of the players were on all the teams though.
