Take your time & enjoy the fabrication process. I mean that in earnest, it's rare in the age of modern mass-produced parts & products for there to be a fairly direct connection between the craftsman & the end user of the item. No hurry, as long as it gets done well & eventually.

This is a massive GB, 2-3 time larger than anything else Ive done. I have everyone's parts set aside, and have begun prepping the brackets and other parts for assembly.

While the GB was finalizing, I was also of course taking in individual orders from the website and social media, and have taken in many orders since. Being one guy, and having the ability to get 1 part built and painted per day, its a slow process so I appreciate everyone's patience! I have many customers daily messaging me asking about lead times and eta's and I am getting back to everyone as quickly as I can.

The bottom line is you will be stoked with the added performance and insurance of the kits!

Appreciate the update @Bonzen. I'm still collecting parts for spring wrenching season So, like @GilbertOz, I'm in no hurry.

I do keep second guessing my color choice though but that's a me problem

Alright, gearing up to figure out how to do the engine-mounts swap without stress. Watching lots of youtubes of others changing mounts.

I have a chain hoist hooked to my garage ceiling that can handle 1,000 lbs comfortably, so I want to use that to lift the engine slightly to take the weight off the mounts, rather than using a floor jack with jerry-rigged wood blocks pushing up on the oil pan. Will pull the hood off first.

Never attempted to lift an engine before. Searched around TW forums but couldn't find a good, clear post on what bracket(s) are needed and/or where you just bolt generic chain brackets to the 1GR-FE engine to use as lift points.

Any hints / links would be appreciated.

Here's one of the better videos I've found so far, though this guy is only replacing the worn half of his OEM mounts, not both halves of the entire mount.

No lift advice but if you switch using the jack. You only lift it 1/2 - 1” and the jack is nice when Trying to line up the mounts. you may need to drop the sub frame to get the drivers side out. I had to.

Yeah, watching videos etc. it seems like jacking from beneath is more to the point for the amount of directional control it gives. Ideally also using a separate transmission jack as well.

Def. going to pull the front driveshaft, possibly the cats/Y-pipe, to try to make this as easy possible. At least my truck doesn't have any rust on it so there should be no corrosion-related problems with removing & re-inserting bolts.

Why would you need a transmission jack!?

It’s not hard, just time consuming because of the tight spaces. I did mine when I installed the URD headers (plus was that removing motors mounts made that install also way easier). It’s 100% better to use a cherry picker or overhead hoist like what you described than jacking on the poor little lower oil pan. If you look at your engine there are flats and threaded holes machined in the heads next to the exhaust ports. Toyota sells lift brackets to bolt on there, but they are pricey!! I just cut my own from scrap 3/8 plate, but you could just wrap chain around the exhaust manifolds; lots of wreckers do this all the time. They are double wall and very strong.

Hmm yeah. I have rudimentary steel fabbing capabilities in 1/4" plate, so I could just cut some 1/4" x 2" strip steel to length, drill holes in it, & bend it to fit.
