That looks like a fun time! I haven't touched my truck in a few weeks, need to make a little local trip me thinks.

Ha yeah I mean "local" is 2 hours away but still. Rausch Creek is still the best offroad park in the NE even with it's insane prices these days. I learned almost everything I know from that place and it's always fun remembering what the truck is capable of and how well it actually works as built.

Places "costing" anything is foreign to me, what's the going rate to play in a place like Rausch Creek for a day?

You don't want to know. You need to buy a yearly membership which costs $60 and then a day pass is $70 a day. Back when I started going there it was $15 membership, $30 for a day back in 2012. It's why I stopped going and favored the bigger and free adventures but those required 5+ hour drives either going north to vt/nh or south to va. There is another place nearby that is $30 a day but then you are paying $40+ also for camping while you can camp at Rausch for free. And that other place the trails either are too easy or you are smashing into trees the whole time.

But if this lets me take my son camping and wheeling while still being relatively close to home I'll pay it for now until we can do the bigger trips more often. He did his first trip to VA in April with the Bronco, 4 days, 3 nights and was a champ about it.

Ouch. I considered going when I was back but was having too many issues just driving the highway.

    When's that move west happening?

Yeah I saw all the shit you were dealing with when you came out here recently. And honestly no idea. Wife is being hella resistant and we don't have a plan so it feels like never currently. It doesn't help that the market makes it just seem impossible too. Our mortgage payment is only $1750 a month, hard to walk away from that with the way shit is right now.

No more smacking my wife in the knees fishing them out of the glove compartment! Every thing that makes the truck I’ve had for almost 20 years feel like a vehicle from the past decade is a huge plus

Why do I fear it’s gonna happen here, or everywhere pretty much? I remember the first time I went to Wallace Falls in Gold Bar and they required a discover pass, I was like wtf, we used to skip school and smoke weed in the parking lot

They probably started charging admission to discourage kids from smoking weed in the parking lot...

    Nooo…, no. Maybe.

It was a direct result of the huge influx of people using the park, which that was 25 years ago, it’s happening nationwide now, especially since the vid. I certainly don’t begrudge the park’s department or the state and federal governments, it’s a usage fee, which I’m willing to pay for. I begrudge the people that also want to enjoy it. Fuck them lol

Yeah, it's a funny thing, and as big a problem here in Colorado as it is anywhere.

Set aside slivers of nature for people to enjoy and build roads and facilities to make it easy to access for anyone (which is a good thing!), but then so many people come to enjoy it that it almost ruins the place.

Will post picture tomorrow if it matters, but install da new phone mount, R&R the flaking window trim, which was sand and paint. Also removed two layers of window tint on the car. Don't ask me how there are two layers of tint but there was. Who does that kind of thing?

Bought the cheapest ADD CV axle off rockauto to turn into a trail spare stub shaft. Was surprised to see how little grease there was in the boot of the outer joint. Probably wouldn't have thrown any grease if the outer boot tore
