This is not a bathtub

 

Looks like my HVAC in my house isn't keeping up with the hot and humid weather . A few hours ago it felt very humid inside my house . Checked the thermostat and it was showing 73° and 87% humidity

I had a spare HVAC filter and installed it and turned the ceiling fans on and now it feels much more comfortable

 

90°, feels like 97°. I know one fat bald old timer that ain't going out of the house until fall

 

Do I recall you saying you have a heat pump?

 

Well I kinda got lucky today. Friend had some extra tickets to see Keb Mo , R+B tonight, 1/2 price. Wife’s birthday is today, she’s geeked. A bunch of our friends are going, so we’re meeting at Taco Bobs before the show. The restaurant is within walking distance from the show

we are in the same heat wave. mid 90’s all last week and this week. no rain in 3 weeks. but,no mowing!! watered the garden twice today. ive downsized it so its managable at our age. lol

 

Yes I've got a Heat pump system

 

They don't deal well with extremes, hot or cold. I spent 30 years maintaining a 55,000 Sq ft building with 39 heat pumps. I learned to dislike tempss under 20° and over 90°. They were great the rest of the time.

 

Bout the only thing im doing in this heat is i got asked to help do a chicken bbq Saturday morning for a fundraiser. doing @ 400 halves. lighting the fire at 6am. and may be making the mop sauce. not sure yet on the sauce.

I have a heat pump in conjunction with a propane furnace. Mine is set at 35 degrees. After that the furnace kicks on. The air at 38 or 40 degrees is not superhot. As an a/c, I haven't had much of a problem. I think it works similar to any electric a/c unit. Then again, we only get a few days a year over 90 (well, until this week. 7 days straight is forecasted). I get a special rate from my electric provider. My bills are still super high in the summer. On a good note, I just ordered propane to fill up my tank at $1.69.gallon.

Being a west coaster all my life, I remember visiting my grandparents in Racine Wi, when I was young.
We drove up from Chicago and I was asleep when we arrived, woke up the next morning, had Kringle, of course, and noticed a machine running constantly. Turned out to be a dehumidifier. I soon found out why. I took a step out of the front door and it was like hitting a wall of water. WTF?

I don't know how you deal with humidity.
