I mean does it seal and do its job... Send it with the cracks! 183$ is a chunk of super tenere gas money you could put INSIDE the tank and ride.

Usually pretty easy to find a spot where the front wheel could be in a dip or the stand could be on a high spot to raise the bike. On my super tenere I installed 40mm lift dogbones and puts me in the same spot on the center stand. If I need to pull the front / rear wheel I put a half inch piece of wood under the center stand pads to create more space.

There's a gasket under the ring, but I don't think fuel gets to that area. It's painted under there.

rotated tires changed oil threw out the old air freshener.
I needed some spray paint for the revamp on the Taco Softopper/Thule rack stuff/ So I took the motorbike into town to pick up three rattle cans of "metal coating to slow corrosion".
    Rustoleium by name.
Any way, On the return ride, I came to a eureka moment and realized that I don't reallt need a new, or another bike. (though I do want that Vespa 300) The VFR does everything I ever want, I even trail ride it. It is no heavier than most contemporary adventure bikes, and I can deal with the ground clearance issues.

So now it's just a matter of "tire selection" to turn a sport touring bike into a "do anything",
and maybe a new set of SS headers to get rid of the puffy sound that comes through the rust hole in the collector. ;-)

just a couple of things tbh
if it aint leaking send it for your trip and fix it with something aftermarket when you get back that might look cooler tbh. since that is one hell of a price for a shiny ring!

Ha I need to see if the old go pro still works. I've been trying very small jumps but nothing close to video worthy

Changed up my setup from hard cases to soft bags. Lost some storage room but I def like better. Only con is I can’t take the bags on and off quickly.

I'm a big fan of soft bags. But are you running a risk with that exhaust?

you cant see but plastic of bike is shielding the bag from exhaust and there is heat tape on backside.

It's the whole fuel cap, though. Not just the ring.

Man a new spare would have been my very first mod lol that would cause me too much anxiety. bummer about the snapped ring though.

if it makes you feel better, my R6 service/repairs are gonna take longer than expected so I won't be able to take it to the track this weekend

Not only do I have spare keys at home, I keep a spare hidden on the bike in case I should break or lose mine, or do something dumb like lock it under the seat.
Edit: you guys can order blanks from Amazon and most locksmiths can cut it for you.
I did and cut my own.
Not a lot of locksmiths carry a decent selection of motorcycle keys, so you might be better off ordering it.
