In your opinion, would getting the speaker upgrades + amplifier on stock HU be worth it? I don't have the JBL option, just normal stock HU + speakers. I was thinking about getting that Kicker kit on Trail Grid Pro's website + an amplifier to help out the HU power. I'm not looking for a subwoofer, but definitely an upgrade on sound overall.

 

Shouldn’t the IPA go down the throat of the repairer?
Use all the isopropyl alcohol you want on the wheel but the IPA will make the repair more fun.

 

I want a new shifter.

 

How do you like the Ironman’s so far?

 

The ride is great. I was concerned that they would be on the stiffer side but that’s not the case. I went with them over OME springs because the shop that did the install says the Ironman’s aren’t squeaky and I haven’t heard anything from them.

I can honestly say I never heard a Tacoma without the JBL system in it. I can tell you this changing speakers with the JBL system didn't really buy me much. If you want to keep steering wheel controls with an aftermarket HU just get a Maestro RR2, (BTW I have on stilled sealed that I can let go for a good price).

AMP and speakers may give you what you want. I know from my experience going from the Upgraded HU and Speakers with JBL AMP to the Apline AMP was like day and night.

Awesome, thank you for your input. I may go with the kicker set + alpine amp.

 

I painted the jacking points on the undercarriage fluorescent orange to make it easier to locate when needed.

Hella supertones I recon. I’ve got a set sitting around. Planning to wire them up in tandem with the sharptones I already have, in order to be real obnoxious

 

Im planning the same thing. I have the sharps already and they are nice and loud... but I want more.

 

I have the supers in place and have yet to wire and mount my sharps. It’s the extra wiring really I don’t want to do.
